actually same day weigh in would only favor pac's resume.....not sayin it's greater than robnson .....but him fighting cotto and clottey would really look greater than it is now given the size diffrence and vs margo it'd be like pac beating a guy 3 divions bigger(considerin same day weigh ins).....inclede the names and titles pac has, thats some old school type resume right there with the exeption of not having to have fought bums twice a month....

If there were same day weigh ins Pacquiao would have never had a notable win below 135.

And assuming that guys like Cotto and Margarito would be champions at Middleweight without same day weigh in is severely flawed.

here is a list I compiled of Robinson's greatest wins:
Sammy Angottx3-Robinson beat this HOF fighter at Lightweight, and Angott would become Lightweight champ 5 months after losing to Robinson. Less than 2 years later he would go on to beat the first man to beat the ATG Willie Pep. Very overlooked win. Robinson would beat Angott twice more at Welterweight.

Fritzie Zivicx2-Robinson would beat the HOF fighter Zivic twice in a row, Zivic was the Welterweight champ only three months before fighting Robinson(gaining the title from Henry Armstrong, losing it to Freddy Cochrane).

Marty Servox2-Robinson would beat him twice, the first time when he was 42-0-2. Servo would beat Cochrane to become the Welterweight champ a few years later.

      Tony Motisi-top ten at welterweight

Jake LaMotta-Robinson would beat this HOF Middleweight 5 times, many times weighing in as a natural Weltweight or less compared to the much heavier LaMotta. Their first fight happened 9 years before Robinson beat LaMotta to claim the Middleweight crown.

      Ian Jannazzox4-top ten at WW

      Jackie Wilson-top five at WW

      Ralph Zanelli-top ten at WW

Henry Armstrong-HOF, arguably #2 best ever p4p, multi weight class champ.

Tommy Bell-#1 contender at WW, Robinson finally wins the vacant WW title by beating Bell

      Jimmy Doyle-top ten at WW

      Jackie Wilson-top ten at WW

      Bernard Docusen-top five at WW

Kid Gavilanx2-HOF, future WW champ, top ten at WW

      George Costner-#2 at WW

Robert Villemainx2-#3 at MW, had wins over LaMotta and Kid Gavilan

      Charley Fusari-top ten at WW

Bobo Olsenx4-HOF Middleweight, would go on to become Middleweight champ about 3 years after the first Robinson losses, Robinson would beat him again by decision during his MW title run, Robinson would KO him again after his first retirement to regain the Middleweight title in 1955

Jake LaMotta-listed again because Robinson won the MW title by stopping him

Randy Turpin-Avenging his loss to Turpin by KO, Robinson wins back the MW title from this HOF MW, Turpin rated #1 at MW

Rocky Graziano-Robinson KOed this HOF Middleweight in 3, Graziano was rated in the top ten but not prime

Rocky Castellani-Robinson would come out of retirement in 1955 and beat the #2 rated MW by decision(retiring after ahead on points but dying from heat exhaustion against HOF LHW Joey Maxim)

Gene Fullmer-Robinson would go 1-2-1 against this HOF MW, KOing him in their second bout. Gene Fullmer was champ and would go on to become MW champ again

Carmen Basilio-Robinson would avenge his earlier loss to the HOF former WW champ and regain the title

exhausting list, and I probably havent even named all his good wins either. 18 wins over HOF fighters from lightweight to middleweight
thats about 36 wins over notable competition and top 10 contenders. to put it in perspective, Pacquiao has about 13 or 14 based on the same criteria.

There's some footage of him at WW, or in non-title, over-147 bouts when he was WW champ but the quality is very poor.

Pac is the best in his time. ive seen some videos of Robinson but i didnt see any extra ordinary about his fighting style. he was good, strong fast with chin but so is Pac. he fought better competition but didnt mean he was better than Pac, same with Pac. people always look at the technical abilities but you win a fight by not just your technical skills alone. in paper Pac would lose against Barrera, Morales, Marquez, Cotto but he didnt. people keep saying Pac only had speed and power, maybe its enough to beat and dominated everyone in front of him. the guy is a freak of nature. he is more than just speed and power.the guy is proven same with Robinson. i know he is up there with Robinson and some of the ATG's. but we all know 20's-80's were supposed to be better than todays boxers. in REALITY athlete gets better. ITS PROVEN.

how's that?....and i wasnt assuming cotto or margo would be champions at mw either.....i said if same day weigh in was still in effect , pac fighting cotto and clottey would be the same as hnery arstrong fighting garcia becuase of the obvious similar weight diffrences between em......pac beating margo would top that....

i never said pac's resume is better than robinson's so dont know exactly why the need to post sugar's wins but thanks anyways...but for the sake of argument, comparing the two like theway your doing is kinda unfair given fightiers now do'nt fight as much as they did back then....but if you look at it %wise 36 out 200 fights 18% of qualtiy wins and 14 out of 57 is 25% of quality wins.....again , im not sayin pac's is better but instaed im sayin you really cannot compare their resume based on quality wins becuase one has 200 fights and the oether about 60....

Robinson record takes some beating. Pacquiao isn't even top 15 yet.

At welterweight that would favor him.But he wouldn't of had anything left to fight at 126 & below.Call it bums 2ice a month if U like.No current fighter could have done same day weight ins & fight anyone twice a month. The point is fighters of today enjoy far to much luxury to compare to those hard old school men.If U were to drop SRL unto 147 right now,IMO Pacman & Floyd would never have dared to even think about going there.Better training techniques now, usable weight in advantage, more time off, less fights, better medical, the list can go on forever.Just let it be.Pacman isn't a better fighter than SRL was, period.

..do you thnink comparing quality wins between a guy who fought 200 times and a guy with 60 fights is fair?....how about losses, draws , dont you think you have to count them aswell if youcount the wins?....
