ortiz couldn't KO lamont peterson, couldn't KO an old ass nate campbell, couldn't KO a gassed out berto @ 147 either. you can't prove which of the two has the better punching power using that logic. your argument gives all the excuse in the world for ortiz but not maidana. it shouldn't work that way. both have devastating power that can turn around fights with one punch imo but, styles make fights given the circumstances.

yea he did, he showed a lot Saturday night, completely proved everyone wrong dude. he was a different boxer, a monster, who he used to be, till Maidana took his confidence that night and his heart. Garcia always said he didn't like being hit, well something changed, te media and fans pushed him into a corner, and he fought outComment

your right, hate seeing my.boxers lose but he gains more with this loss then a win. for example lets say Ortiz don't get up or does and gets finished off, Berto learns nothing and continues to think his power will carry himComment

Peterson has a great chin, only.one guy had knocked out Campbell early in his career. Maybe its Bertos chin also, Part of Maidanas power problem is his inability to land those hard shots flush, the times he did he knocked out boxers he was suppose to, and other times he did he.couldn't ie Khan and Morales.
No one thought Erik Morales stood a chance but being that he is a skillful boxer was able to give Maidana fits. Also big punchers get discouraged against fighters who have good resisitance to punches.Comment

I think in the rematch if it is at 147 that Ortiz beats Maidana. Victor seems to be improving while Maidana is struggling against fighters that he shouldn't be struggling against. It's always the same with these fighters who rely on their power like Cotto, Maidana, Lopez, etc..... all you have to do is box them to win.

there goes the difference of opinion again, you say its khans chin, I say Maidanas power. no point in furthering that debate. Morales who was a career super feather weight, should not be able to.handle power at 140, way beyond his prime, old boxing age, first fight since 07, Maidana couldn't land left hooks flush against a boxer with a closed right eye, see what I mean with his boxing ability keeping him from using his power, you think is tops and I think is over rated, effectivelyComment

I agree with your analysis on Maidana's skills bro but I still think he can compete with Ortiz/Berto @147. Yeah he probably has overrated power but he did KO Ortiz ,who like Berto has very good footwork, hand speed and power. Maidana did compete with Khan, who has better footwork/hand speed than both Victor & Andre and also when "slick boxers" like Malinaggi & McCloskey couldn't compete. You knock Maidana's lack of KO vs Morales, but, in Erik's entire career he has only been stopped twice and that was Pacquaio both times.Comment
