Victor Ortiz is still basking in the glow of his dramatic twelve round decision victory over previously undefeated Andre Berto, a performance that netted him the WBC welterweight championship of the world. Trading knockdowns with Berto to the crowd's delight at the Foxwoods Resort Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, Ortiz's dogged aggression and cleaner punching paved the way to a unanimous decision in a huge upset in what will go down as one of the year's best fights. Maidana seems like the kinda boxer who will fight anybody anywhere as long as they are in the same weight class. I believe him when he says he wasn't offered a rematch by team Ortiz. Why would Team Ortiz want a immediate rematch after Maidana whooped his ass?
Ortiz did what he was supposed to do against a paper champion. Maidana would've easily beat Berto as well although he would've definatly gotten at least 1 point taken away for rabbit punching if they had the same douchebag referee.Last edited by Check_hooks; 04-18-2011, 04:16 AM.

Maidana should step up to 147, he looks pale as fugg in his last weigh-ins, could add more muscle as well

I think Ortiz could lose this. Problem with Vic is that he gets in too many big exchanges when he can just box to win a round. Maidana thrives of opponents that want to brawl and with improved power at 147 this could be a real problem for Ortiz.

Ortiz was young and was never hit like that before, I'm not sure if he had been cut like that before, hes a different boxer now, he took what Berto had, was almost gone and came back, he was having weight issues at 140 and should had made a move to 147 before the Maidana fight, he should rematch Maidana at 147, should be easy like the first fight started, Maidanas OVER RATED power won't translate at 147
