Those 2 fights are better than a 3rd fight with JMM at 147, or a rematch with the winner of Marg-Cotto II, or the fight on May 7th.

you wouldn't consider it but after he blows out BOTH Berto and Bradley, everyone else will
they would say Tim was too small and didn't have the pop to keep PAC honest and they would say Berto wasn't all that to begin with
the reality is, unless he moves up AGAIN or gets that chicken**** to come out of hiding, EVERY fight will be considered a cherrypick

I'm looking at it through Pac's and his legacy.
As far as I'm concern JMM has been just selling wolf tickets in wanting to fight Pac.
Fact is Pac-JMM should have fought 3 or 4 times by now. And, the only reason they haven't is because JMM quite frankly ducked those fights.
However, the only weight-class where the fight means anything for Pac is at 135. That is where Pac would get the most credit if wins. And, if he does win he be historic. He would be winning his 3rd lineal championship in 3 of the original 8 weight-classes. Only 2 other people have done it, Bob Fitzsimmons(arguably a top 20 ATG) and Henry Armstrong(arguably a top 5 ATG) Pac would be in a very true elite company.
And, I still think Pac will be healthy enough at 135 to give the massacre that you want to see.

If it doesn't matter that much?
Anyways a JMM fight only means something at 135. That's it, that is the only weight-class where it would absolutely mean anything for Pac legacy.
Marquez usually weigh 135 and the day of the fight we'll come up to 145. So what's the problem with Marquez weighing 140 or 142 the day of weigh in...and avoiding the effort of gaining 10 or 9 pounds for the fight.
Why does Pacquiao have to lose weight if Marquez can fight tremendously weighing 145, like the Katsidis fight....
Why does Pacquiao have to go down to a weighclass he's not being in years, with Marquez being able to make 145 pounds ??
You're not being reasonable !!

For my point of view, the only way it would be a non competitive fight, is if they force Marquez to make 147 for the fight. If that's the case, it'll be a fraud.

when was the Diaz fight? 2007? dude, i think a move back down, that steep would be disastrous....especially for a fighter that's already in the later stages of their career

Berto would be an easier fight for Pac. How would Berto cope with Pac's footwork, angles and uppercuts? It would be a massacre. And for less money. Berto is still young and this trilogy may never happen if it can't be made now.
Pac don't even want this trilogy. He's an entertainer. To him Marquez is boring as hell as a dance partner. All he does is wait and counter. Pac feels uneasy when nothing is going on in the fight. Marquez won't do it. If Pac does it it will be at his own peril. You'll see it in the Clottey fight. He's clearly frustrated doing all the work.
