Fight night weight has everything to do with power. Every high school science student knows that a man's power is directly proportional to its weight. That's why most trainers resorted to making their fighters fight lower than their natural weight because by fight night as they regained their natural weight they would have an advantage than boxers who are weighing-in at their natural weight.

You have it the other way around. Most boxers have to shed-off mostly water from their body and muscles to make the official weight. That's detrimental to the body because everyone knows our body needs water.

That's the reason why Roach would not allow Pacquiao to fight at 135 even though he can make it because Manny have to shed weight.
