it almost looked like he didnt care if he took punches to dish 'em out but he couldnt get inside on ishida either and when he got knocked down the second time there was still enough time left in the round for ishida to finish him

kirkland had better work his ass off like he used to with anne wolfe
    What he said.

So what. Could understand if it was 0 KO's but he has put people out. Also, it only takes one good accurate punch to do it and looking at how fast Ishida looked then them punches could have some solid effect on them. Kirkland could have a weak chin but fact of the matter is that no other fighter has put him down in the first round since his pro career, so lets give Ishida some more credit then discrediting his victory because of Kirkland. Kirkland hit him a couple of times solid but the kid kept coming.

Everyone hating on Kirkland, no love for Ishida has a decent record former champ, and apparently has goos skills and he did this at 35 no spring chicken.
I agree. So much hating on Kirkland that they are missing the fact that Ishida was the only one to do this to the once feared, pressure fighter, James Kirkland. Props to Nobuhiro Ishida.

Eventhough I would have not stopped the fight so fast, you can't really get too upset with the stoppage because Cortez was in the ring seeing Kirkland get manhandled. Japanese dude was too fast for Kirkland. Cortez do needs to retire though because he looks like he wants to get more shine then the fighters.
Agreed...this can happen in the first round - Kirkland didn't look any more hurt than Marquez when Manny dropped him 3 times in a single round. That said, I really don't think Kirkland was gonna win that fight, mainly because of the style match-up, but I would have let him go until he actually looked hurt.

Kirkland didn't even know where he was for the most part. Dude hit the canvas hard the second time and tried to jump back up on some Zab Judah s#!t. Ishida just beat the crap out of Kirkland plain and simple. I would be on the Kirkland has a weak chin bandwagon if that would have happened to Kirkland before but it didn't. Good win for Ishida.

Kirkland looked hurt bruh. He was getting pummeled in there. Atleast Marquez got off the mat and was competitive. Kirkland was just taking an ass whupping. Somewhere Ann Wolfe is holding her head down.
