I was even more shocked when I saw this guy only had 8 KOs after reading about this fight. Come on man, Kirkland just aint as good as he used to be. It's not so much that he's a hype job. He beat Vera and Julio and those guys are good gate keepers.

I do agree that Cortez should have let Kirkland get up or atleast give him a standing 8 count. I feel that Cortez loves this kind of controversy or homie is just getting too old. But didn't help Kirkland jumping up right away like that. Didn't help Zab either.

Some are saying Kirkland's chin was exposed but it was more a case of his defense getting exposed, he looked very easy to hit, but very willing and able to keep getting up from knockdowns.
