His legs looked steady when he got up, and his protests to Cortez were immediate...could be his big-time pride, but watching it live, I thought he was fine to continue. The second round could've been lots of fun.Comment

Didn't anyone notice between the second and third knockdowns Kirkland almost went down, as he staggered back?
He clearly wasn't able to defend himself, so Joe Cortez made the right call.
I like Ishida, he comes across as a good sportsman.
He's quite a contrast to James Kirkland, who has shown himself to have weak character (criminal activity) and poor sportsmanship (not admitting he lost and not giving props to Ishida).Comment

I hear you but did it ever happened to Kirkland before? He has taken bigger shots from heavier punchers than that before in a boxing match. That's being honest.Comment

Using steroids and QUITTING is also a sign of weak character.....lol.........Comment

You don't like fighters because they are prideful and confident? Just because James didn't give props to Ishida doesn't mean he is a poor sport. He was trying to get up but Cortez put his knee on him. That doesn't sound like a defeated man to me. Had Cortez reffed Manny V JMM 1 we would of never had a classic war there either. Cortez must leave the sport.Didn't anyone notice between the second and third knockdowns Kirkland almost went down, as he staggered back?
