Kirkland and Lemieux, two guys who had no problem dishing it out but couldn't take it. They got a taste of their own medicine. Both were arrogant guys who bum rushed their opponents with no respect. Rubio would have done the same to Kirkland and Ishida the same to Lemieux.

Coming into this fight, I think it was already common knowledge that Kirkland had a suspect chin and terrible defense. I still didn't expect that outcome, especially with the given opponent (one who isn't even known as a big puncher). Unless James develops actual boxing skills, I can't see him going far with his "reckless abandon" style, at least not anymore.

Lewis and Wlad have unmatched boxing ability. Kirkland doesn't.

Kirkland should have kept Ann Wolfe. I think the speed early on was just too much for Kirkland. Ishida didn't let James get into his rythm and control the fight pace.

Cortez is a pos, Kirkland was easily gonna get up. Has everyone forgot about his fight with Allen Conyers? I'm sick of referees thinking they have a right to be the focal point in the fight and that's exactly what Cortez tried to do.

Kirkland will be back and will be hungry and more prepared. He will knock Ishida out in the rematch, not worried at all about James's career.
