Pretty sure everyone on here slated Tyson in the past for beating a blown up, past it Spinks that quote ''Didn't belong in the ring with him'', but now he's a Super ATG at Heavy which is an amazing win.Comment

Spinks moved up to hevayweight and beat Holmesx2 and KOed Cooney. Spinks would beat both the Klits, Prime Holyfield and Lewis.
Tyson was the complete fighter. JMM was a blown up featherweight who didnt do anything at welterweight. Hatton is a JWW. De La Hoya was prime at welterweight.
JMM was a tuneup after 2 years away...
At least he didn't fight Golden Johnson or Alphonso Gomez...LOL
Tyson wasn't a complete anything.
He just looked like a complete fighter feasting on weak comp like Marvis Frazier and the DREADED Henry Tillman.
Tyson fought in one of the weakest heavyweight divisions EVER....just look who he won his Title from...LOL
Trevor Burbick's wobbling ass.
Hell I coulda' did that.
Compare Burbick to Genaro Hernandez..the guy Floyd won his title from.
Tyson got WHOOPED by a journeyman...Douglass.
Floyd would never lose to a journeyman.Last edited by FerdinandMarcos; 04-05-2011, 05:41 PM.Comment

Floyd beat WBC champions in 5 different weight classes. Won lineal titles at 130, 135, and 147. Won The Ring titles at 135 and 147. Pick on his resume all you want, going from 130, 135, 140, 147 pounds up to 154 pounds and staying undefeated 41-0, along with the above accomplishments, how can you possibly hate on that. Even great fighters lose while going up in weight, it takes a special fighter to stay undefeated through 5 weight classes. This can't even be a debate. Tyson was a big money fighter but he's not even
close to Floyd's accomplishments.
It was only later that guys like Merchant would talk about another Mayweather fiasco, "stinking out the half empty arena" guys walking out whilst he was actually fighting in the ring, etc.etc.
I have a video where Merchant mentioned the "quarter filled arena, stinking out the arena and guys walking out" all in the same broadcast, and that it was another typical Mayweather fight.
I can't help what these guys say, but they said it. Those who have only recently latched on to the Mayweather PR stunts, don't know about these things.
For example Mayweatrher, to this very day, says that Emmanuel Augustus was his toughest fight. But at the time, Mayweather was 20 or 22-0 and Augustus was around 21-18, on paper, a cinch, and not a fit fight for an up and comer with such talent as Mayweather.
It was the same with Castillo, I think he'd had about 6-7 losses at that time, and had been Julio Caesar Chavez" chief sparring partner for most of his career, more than he was an actual fighter, and was thought to be "worn out". That was nearly another disaster where the Brains Trust miscalculated.
As it turned out, he luckily stopped Augustus in, I think, the 9th (a body shot?) and maybe that his promoter at the time of the Castillo fight was Top Rank (I think) may have just won him that fight which so many thought he lost.
I was one of them, although I believe he won the return, (wider than the official cards).Comment

Hatton should have fought Floyd at 140 when he had the chances.

The following are facts. When Mayweather came to be better known, just before he won the 130 title from the former semi retired featherweight champ, who retired immediately after, it was often mentioned in print, that Mayweather ALWAYS had an "edge" in his fights. They used to refer to his "Brains Trust" how smart they were in their choice of opponents for Mayweather, which gave him a definite edge, but also made him look good.
