Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Ken Norton, Ron Lyle, Ernie Shavers, Joe Bugner, Mac Foster, Floyd Patterson, Zora Foley, Cleveland Williams, Jimmy Ellis, Bob Foster or Ernie Terrell

These guys were all good fighters but its nostalgia to say that there better than Tyson pre-prison opponents.

Shavers had a punch and nothing else. Norton had a glass chin etc etc. Most of these guys would be easy KO wins for Tyson, yet because there part of this golden era there made out to be world beaters.

Right, because Buster Douglas was a world beater and Razor Rud**** and James Smith going 12 with Tyson were all time greats........lol

              GTFO here with that bull****.

Shavers, Norton alone from that group were 10X the fighters. They lost because they were in the most competitive HW decade of all time.

Please quit while you are ahead. Tyson beat up on mid level fighters, then lost to Buster Douglas and then when he had a chance to redeem himself with Holyfield got handled TWICE. Then got KTFO by Lennox.

Tyson is one of the most overrated fighters of all time, he was exciting, he had devastating power but when he faced good opposition he got beaten and beaten badly.

Tyson and JCC were friends. As a mexican you should show some respect to Tyson. Razor Ruddock was a world class figher and very highly rated. Everyone was ducking him before Tyson stepped up.

Smith lost a lopsided decison to Tyson. Baldomir went 12 rounds with mayweather. Tyson was past prime against douglous.

Shavers lost to an actual bum(guy with a losing record) in his prime. Norton had a glass chin and would get KTFO in 1 round by Tyson. Their era was more competitive because there wasnt a beast like Tyson destroying everyone.

Tyson was a shot fighter after prison. His fights against Lewis and Holyfield dont mean anything. In his prime he would KTFO both those guys.

It doesn't make him a better fighter though, Tyson was done, it doesn't mean anything.
