the Pac that lost to torrecampo is not nearly as good as the pac now. JC beat a version of BH who was still producing the goods on the surface as what he had ever done. JC has a decent enough resume as it stood as well. BH drew with a guys whose name escapes me, that JC wouldnt have drawn with.

I dont think BH beat anyone Jc wouldnt have, so i try not to discredit JC for not fighting the Trinidads, DLHs and Pavliks of this world.
I dont think a prime BH would beat JC as well. At least not a JC with decent hands and not the brittle ones we see now.

But when all is said and done, Pac has the better resume and has impressed people more with how he won.

THat is why Pac is FOTD i suppose. What pac has done is better than what BH has done if age isnt a factor. What BH has done better is that he has done it at an advanced age. But he cant get brownie points for draws with Pascal just cos hes old.

I am adament that the Moronic Pacqiuao fan base are worse than the moronic Floyd fan base.

I mean, in these recent Hopkins threads alone we have had;

Hopkins is a greater Middleweight than Monzon because he has more title defences.

Hopkins was in his prime Vs Calzaghe.

Calzaghe beat Hopkins thus is greater than Hopkins.

Pacqiuao beat a better version of Oscar than Hopkins did.

Size is all that matters when it comes to greatness.

to say mannys resume is better is fine..but the reasons giving by alot of posters here are dumb..size doesnt=better..both have a case to have better resumes than each other imo

His arguments is that 20 title defenses doesn't really mean a lot. But, who he beat during those defenses is what counts.

if you have an Andre berto type reign for 20 title defenses or you pick scrubs for your fights the entire time, it doesn't mean as much. But seeing as how this is a bhop thread and no one else at mw ever had that many defenses of the belts, I think it's worth talking about bhop's streak specifically.

There were plenty of solid fights in there, with the champion getting everyone's best shot. There are also some great bhop performances vs dudes who are no joke.

I see people frequently defend other fighters resumes using solid wins in championship fights. This was no calzaghe reign

the sad reality is that rabid pacfans and rabid floyd fans = same type of person.

another way of saying it is its the same coin, different sides.

OR

same type of fan, different boxer.

a more REALISTIC difference is that there are just MORE Pac fans than Floyd fans, simply because Pac is a fan friendly-type of athlete.
