What? Stop being ******ed. He belongs nowhere near that.

All I know in this posters humble opinion, that he is ahead of Roy Jones and they're from the same era.

      Debate that.
This wasn't much a debate two or three years ago, but the way Hopkins has stuck around, it is now. Personally I think Jones at his best always beats Hopkins at his best and was simply a better fighter, but it's now a question of whether you prefer technical prowess and longevity vs. a shorter career that was more eye catching.

        One that many disagree with.

Although if I understand you correctly you are saying it's based on acheivment not who woul win H2H? If so I agree.

And it isn't nostaligia. Carlos Monzon is greater than Hopkins. That is NOT nostalgia. That is factual/clear as day.
Im saying both are equally important. Because if not the it gives certain guys a permenant spot and how fair is that. Written history has a way of becoming the "big fish" story over time. To me visual evidence in boxing is very important. Resume is the least note worthy evidence. I say that because look at how we do with recent resume comparison. Fighter A could beat fighter X when he's considered a tough opponent. Fighter B could beat fighter X with wear and tear 7 or 8 years later. But when you look at boxrec it evens out the greatness of the wins unless you actually watch both fights.

If B-Hop is top 10(which he's not) how would that make Cal top 5?

BH isnt top 10. I seriously think the reason why he is doing well at this age, is because his opponents expect to beat him easily and arent prepared as much as BH.
They think they can just blast BH out. If they prepared for BH, they would have done better i think. If they were afraid of BH it might have put them in better stead, instead of thinking hes past it at 40ish.

More likely it's the sad technical decline of todays crop of fighters.

But understandablly you can't give Hopkins any credit.

I will say again: thread starter is insane and Hopkins belongs nowhere near any top 10 atg list.
