Pac definitely has a more impressive resume in the past but I think now Martinez tops him and that's what everyone is focusing on. Pac's accomplishments as a pro fighter will always be there but it's not like dude retired. He is still fighting but not really against anyone to show the world that he has indeed improved or is the greatest. Good choices regarding $ but think he has alot of it and a fight against a threat would do him some good at this point because basically nobody of significance in the sport of boxing is thinking it is Mosley. That's not me bashing Pac either but rather telling it like it is.

I don't think Floyd would fight Martinez at a catchweight. He just did that for Marquez and he STILL didn't come in 144. Floyd fought Oscar at 154 and didn't even make the weight. Floyd in my opinion IF he did take a Martinez fight would do it at 154 but at this point I don't think he is hungry enough to do that at this point of his career.

Manny fought Cotto as his 2nd fight at 147. Martinez wants to fight that same Cotto in the future!!! He said so in this very same interview!!! lol!
like i said previously. he should follow manny and cotto's example of carefully considering what they say before saying it.

if martinez keeps this up, people would start taking him as seriously as dela hoya.

I honestly feel like Sergio Martinez didn't say anything wrong.

              1. Pac is too small to fight him
              2. Pac has been fighting tailor made fighters who compliment his style
              3. I think he wants Floyd or Cotto if not Pac because the money is there
and Floyd is not too small to fight him and I think Cotto would fight Martinez because he is just made like that but Arum wouldn't let him. Martinez is trying to fight the best but nobody wants to fight him for some good $.

I'm thinking that he should get a Cintron rematch and KO him too. He was robbed the first time of a KO and decision PLUS everyone would agree that Cintron deserves it.

The question: was regarding catch-weight fights.

The statement: was that they have very little merit.

The insinuation: is that Pac has been winning by garnering advantages.

That does not apply to Martinez, because Williams demanded the catchweight.

Martinez is looking down to fight smaller guys, while Pirog, Bute and Ward are waiting for him with iron fists.Hey Martinez, if you are a man fight any of them.

It's not like he is old or at the end of his career, he is really abusing his star power to feed off old, or beatin or disadvantage fighters and worst of has been heavily elevated for those very victories.

Find it pretty hard to respect the path he has takin in a very critical part of his career.
if u were in his shoes wouldnt u be taking millions of dollars before u retire??? for him now its all business...he earned the status the hard way...he fought battles many thinks he wouldnt win...i dont like clottey, margs, mosley either...but when u lace it up there is no way of making sure that u win everytime.... when u go up there in the ring..all it takes is one punch!!

                      One word....HYPOCRITE!

                      HYPOCRITE!

Who has Sergio fought? A small Paul Williams, a beat up and alcoholic Kelly Pavlik, and a small, virtually unknown Serhiy Dzinziruk? Who is Serhiy Dzinziruk anyway? A "LIGHT MIDDLEWEIGHT" who's highest rank in the division is 18!

Though the money is at 147lbs, Sergio needs to look for fights in the higher weight classes. In my opinion, Sergio is a fantastic fighter, however, he is not the number two "Pound for Pound" fighter in the world. As much as this pains me to say because I am a Floyd Mayweather Jr. fight fan, the top five fighters are:

                      1. Manny Pacquiao (Based on his activity)
                      2. Floyd Mayweather Jr. (Skill wise, Floyd is the best)
                      3. Wladimir Klitschko (Straight up beast, boring or not)
                      4. Bernard Hopkins (Still beating tough young fighters)
                      5. Sergio Martinez (Good, very good...needs tougher fights, and should fight anyone amongst the top ten in super middleweight division; Ward, Bute, Froch, Kessler, Dirrell, Bika, Stieglitz, Andrade, Johnson, or Abraham) AT A CATCHWEIGHT OF AROUND 168lbs

Pick on someone your own size.
