Hey, doesn't matter what you or me think opinion wise. Fact of the matter is that the sport of boxing is feeling his accomplishments as of recent. I don't think Martinez was/is the only guy that is saying that about Pac in the sport of boxing. Pac choices of opponents are catching up to him. Here you have a guy (Sergio Martinez) who is getting megs praise for being dominate and he is calling Manny out. Not a good look. No need to bash me because I haven't said anything about Pac and it looks like I don't have to because he is doing all the damage himself (well technically Arum) but Pac let him.

    • I like Martinez BUT he is being a hypocrite here.

How can someone who wanted to fight Mosley months ago, wants to fight Cotto and had fought a lot of "no hope" opponents himself say that about Manny.

Manny fought Cotto as his 2nd fight at 147. Martinez wants to fight that same Cotto in the future!!! He said so in this very same interview!!! lol!

Neither fighter was in his prime so quit making excuses for Martinez. He got KTFO plain and simple in 7 rounds. And the reason why I bring that up is because Pacquiao destroyed Margarito and Margarito is still relevant. Martinez didn't destory torrecampo or Singurat and neither of those fighters are relevant anymore. Stick to the ****ing point you moron.
shouldn't that be the reason why you should be quiet?
martinez wasn't at his best, so why hold a loss thats in the past against him? also, lots of fighters lose sometime or another, your boy pacquiao has 3.
margarito is not in any way shape or form a quality opponent anymore, if you think that, you're kidding yourself. he's only still relevant because he brings in some decent numbers, hence him landing the fight vs pac.
that fight was 10 years ago, if youre still trying to hold on to that to base martinez off of, then you really must be threaten by him

          • Although Floyd is the bigger man and could easily campaign at 154, there is more chance of Pacquiao taking the fight at some catch weight.

Personally I think he should forget 154 and take on Bute at 168 or Kessler. I think he could beat either of them.

I agree he has earned his P4P status as he fought everyone back in the days.

The guy is in his physical prime & the peak of his career..not really a time to be taking it easy! It's not like he is old or at the end of his career, he is really abusing his star power to feed off old, or beatin or disadvantage fighters and worst of has been heavily elevated for those very victories.

Find it pretty hard to respect the path he has takin in a very critical part of his career.

Oooops, I didn't even mentioned Pac when I replied to your opinion. the fact is, If Martinez feels that he's far better than Pac, maybe he should look to his own resume first before saying anything.

Ok we get it. Margarito beat Martinez 10 years ago, while Pac beat Margarito now, which is a fact but if they do have a rematch now. I think Margarito's wife would be receiving a visit from Arum with his boxing gloves, shoes and an apology letter from the Martinez camp for slaying her husband. Pac lost to some nobodies when he was well into his pro boxing career and where are they now? ATLEAST Margarito put in some work and built up a lil name but the guys who beat Pac are almost considered ghost in the sport of boxing. Think they could beat Pac now? Also, it doesn't look good for Pac if he beat the crap out of the guy that beat the crap out of Martinez for a 154title but not willing to fight the man for the title that he won beating Margarito, which was Sergio Martinez's. Oh ok, we get it, lil Pac is too small. That just means what Martinez is saying about Pac being too lil to hang with him is true.

                  • The Pac fans are really going to hate Martinez now. If you think about it though Pac has already beaten Cotto and Mayweather is scared to death of him and those are the 2 guys Martinez is mentioning.

                    • Well, if Sergio fights Peter Manfredo next, his comments in the above article will make him look like a fool. The good thing is I don't think HBO would approve that fight...

Plus, it's been over a week since he has beat Dzinziurk and every day he is saying something about someone. To me, he looks desparate constantly calling out different fighters each day. It's almost like the prom is in two weeks and he needs a hot date but can't get one in time...

Hey Sergio, we understand, you want to be P4P king and you are making a strong case for yourself. Just keep doing what you are doing and maybe you can make it. Just quit begging for certain fighters to fight you (Pacquiao, Mayweather and Cotto) when you have no chance to meet any of them this year. Focus on who is available and who will fight you and go from there.
