Suliman WILL FIND A WAY but If that's the case . . . Chavez/Lemieux makes more sense. Never Maravilla though.

If JR. beats Zbik he will have 1-2 easy defenses then vacate to fight a PPV with a miguel cotto/Margarito or (long shot) Moseley.

and WOW....Martinez/Angulo would be ACTION packed.

pirog fought jacobs for 50k. yes he was ecstatic because martinez making 1.2 million is much more than he would have got fighting off hbo. he would rather pay 850k to an unknown junior middleweight rather than no fight at all. do you not understand that? he could have paid someone less like pirog but it was more dangerous so he didn't.

What I'm saying is Sergio isn't this throw back fighter that his hardcore fans make him out to be just because he's active. And to their credit though, they don't use him being active as an excuse for him not fighting the toughest competition out there.
of course he's not. boxing is fundamentally broken. once you get to the top you can milk the system and have easy fights for big money while ignoring the real challengers. we've seen this same script over and over again. give credit to martinez for earning his way to the top unlike berto but now they are basically the same.

Angulo-Martinez would at least be a semi interesting fight because of Angulo's power.

For a lot of people including me, it's easy to pick apart Sergio's recent wins. But it would be harder if he really had intentions of not cherry picking any easy fights in the near future which is what he is doing by trying to fight all these guys like Chavez Jr and Manfredo.

When I look at Paul Williams I see a guy who was getting hurt and beaten to the punch by Kermit Cintron who is a gate keeper. Sergio beat both these guys and got robbed each he fought them outside of the Williams rematch, but it still doesn't change the fact they are not that good. Williams' best weight was at 147 and 154 and Cintron's past speak for itself He went life and death with guys like David Estrada and Jesse Feliciano on top of the two losses to Margarito. Just a passionless fighter with punching power is all he is.

And then you look at Sergio's win over Pavlik and he did nothing in that fight that Hopkins didn't do against him outside of cutting both of his eyes up. And Pavlik was sort of giving Martinez the business in the middle rounds until he got cut by Martinez's punches.

The dude has never fought a super skilled, well-rounded fighter in his career yet. And although Pirog has yet to fully prove he fits that bill, he is at least a hell of a lot closer to it than the guys on Sergio's wish list.

At least Sergio isn't managed by Al Haymon and he has had to fight against the odds somewhat by being treated as an opponent when he was fighting these guys like Williams and I was suprised that the judges didn't try to rob him in the Pavlik fight. But that still doesn't change the fact that it seems like he has went soft with opponent selection like you say. One thing I don't understand though is why Pirog won't verbally call Sergio out. Same thing with Kirkland. I know Kellerman claims he heard Kirkland tell him he wanted to fight Sergio. But we haven't heard it from him personally. These guys need to put Martinez on blast and they aint doing it it seems like.

On whether he feels he needs to fight Sergio Martinez to feel like the true champion based on the way Martinez was stripped of the title:

“I feel that I’m ready for any fighter. I want to fight Sergio Martinez. I want to fight Kelly Pavlik or anybody in the category that will want to fight me. I’m ready for anybody and I really hope I can fight on HBO and impress my fans again. I hope that I made an impression.”

he called him out but no one cares. i have no problem with sergio fighting dangerous up and coming 154 pounders like angulo or kirkland if the fights are at 154. martinez said he could easily make 154 so why didn't he fight dzinziruk there? martinez wanted the advantage just like everyone in boxing who becomes a shot caller wants some advantage.

Martinez was supposed to fight Zbik instead of Drinzruick. Zbik was his mandatory but he ducked him and fought a 154er at 160.

Why should the winner of Chavez Jr or Zbik give him a chance now when he already ducked Zbik and is a WAY smaller draw than Chavez Jr?

I give Martinez 4 options, #1 rematch Pwill, Pwill already said he wants a rematch, he have Martinez a rematch so its only fair
#2 Pirog - undefeated fighter WBO champ, action fighter
#3 Kirkland - action fighter, called out Sergio Martinez
#4 Angulo - Action fight, build up a name in Mexico to land a shot against JCC Jr one day

Angulo is a 154lb fighter and even there he's not a huge puncher in spite of his Julio win. I hate Cintro and i do think he's better than you're saying but given that is your opinion i'm even more suprised to see you say you'd be interested in a Angulo Martinez fight considering how bad the gatekeeper Cintron outboxed Angulo, imagine how sergio would make him look....... before he knocks him out.

Has jr said something? I suppose Chavez father told his son to remain shut. He knows this could mean the end of his career.
