Why are people downplaying Sergio Martinez? Jeez, the guy does and is everything you would want in a fighter. Martinez isn't giving us exhibition fights ala Pacquiao. Obviously Martinez is doing things right because these Manny fans are obviously feeling threatened by his latest outings and accomplishments.

Why the hell does it say that they are trying to match them up on April 16th? Does that mean like announce the fight or actually have the fight on that day? I assume it's the first part of that question but the way they have it worded it makes it seem like they would make Miguel fight a month later. I wouldn't put it past Arum because he hates Miguel.

1. Sergio demolished Pavlik who was lineal champ at 160. Lets not forget how Kelly got there... He destroyed Jermain Taylor who was lineal before him.. Jermain had convincingly beaten Hopkins who was lineal for HOW many years before that? No triangle theory being made here... Only reason why I bring it up is to show how deep the "lineal" lines lie before Sergio. And it runs deep with great champs

2. Paul Williams was and probably will be one of the most avoided boxers in the industry. He made Paul Williams sleepy time.... not decision or TKO....sleepy time.

You do realize the only reason Sergio even got the Williams fight was because Williams backed out of a Pavlik fight correct? Then in point 3 two of the guys you listed Sergio lost to, he also beat Pavlik after Hopkins already took his 0 and Pavlik wasn't even a top 10 fighter, jesus some of you people are beyond dense. Too little for JMW when it comes to Martinez. Too little for WW when it comes to Cotto. Too big for LW/JWW or a catchweight in between 130-140 for JMM.

Pac strategically hand selects certain fighters at certain weight classes at certain weights. Makes no difference on the "WEIGHT" its all about WHO the fighter is...

Martinez is dangerous, the cheater Margarito wasn't. Cotto was dangerous, (dehydrated) De La Hoya and looser Clottey wasn't. Mosley was "too good" from 141-147 when he came off the KO of Margarito. 2 years later of not winning and at the age of nearly 40, he's not so "too good"..... its about WHO not about weight. Martinez isnt even the point as he is "BIG". Its the fact of how Pac "selects" fighters.... its not hard to see when you look at the opposition. Clottey, Margarito and Mosley all have one thing in common.... They haven't won a fight in over 2 years.

He dropped a guy who hadn't fought in two years that no one heard of, I'm sorry I am not impressed especially because Dzin looked like trash. Did your last statement really just say Dzin was a tougher challenge for Sergio than Cotto, Clottey and Margarito for Pac combined? I actually took you as an intelligent thoughtful poster on here, I may have to rescind that thought. When Cotto fought Pac it alone was a tougher fight than Dzin/Sergio come on man, lets be real, same goes for Clottey and Margarito. Just the sheer fact that they had like 15-20 pounds on Pac is a huge impact. Sergio won't even go up to 168 or at least catch weight with someone. He then answered he won't fight guys because they need more time... Where did this I'm the **** come from when his best seating was 5,000 people Sergio isn't a name like that and shouldn't be talking as if he was.

I like Sergio, I think he has skill and he is a good fighter and like your signature over the past two years he's done a great job but 2 years of good boxing does not earn you P4P #2 status. His body of work before that, anyway you cut it was a loss to Margarito, Williams and Cintron. Sorry if I'm taking guys who have done a lot more in a longer amount of time.

Answer me this. If Sergei wasn't regarded as a good fighter, then how come he is talked about as one? Your opinion doesn't supercede that fact. Cotto at 145, Clottey who didn't even fight back and Margarito at a 150 catchweight when he lost by dominate KO in one fight and looked not good in his other tune up fight? Cotto was damaged goods (Would have been better at 147). Explain why some have Donaire ranked over Martinez when he was on the low for awhile until Montiel? Listen, no one can take away what Manny Pacquiao has accomplished in the sport of boxing but to say Cotto/Clottey/Margarito were better fighters and wins than Pavlik/Williams/Sergei is clearly not looking at the big picture. You have your opinion and I have mine though.
