Cotto at 145, Clottey who didn't even fight back and Margarito at a 150 catchweight when he lost by dominate KO in one fight and looked not good in his other tune up fight? Cotto was damaged goods (Would have been better at 147). Explain why some have Donaire ranked over Martinez when he was on the low for awhile until Montiel? Listen, no one can take away what Manny Pacquiao has accomplished in the sport of boxing but to say Cotto/Clottey/Margarito were better fighters and wins than Pavlik/Williams/Sergei is clearly not looking at the big picture. You have your opinion and I have mine though.
so your argument that Dzinziruk was good is because he was being talked about?, he was a 154 pounder that had to go up and was not fighting for 2 years, Sergio he went 1-1 against Paul, bernard took pavlik's soul and schooled him, cintron well, he's not that good anyway...see two can play that game...fact is Sergio was #4 before Dzin, Sergio CANNOT be #1 by beating DZINZIRUK for crying out loud...How can you go from #4 to #1 by beating Dzinziruk?...you people just keep hating without thinking it through...

martinez had a year of great performance, while pacquiao had a decade of it... he even got a shiny trophy for that from the American press...

manny = cover of time magazine ; floyd = latest photo was a mugshot...
Sergei wasn't drained or had to fight at a catchweight. Dude is mature enough to have made the weight with no problems and even at 160 being a 154 fighter, he was/is regarded as a good opponent and win. Did you even check out what boxing publications had to say about him?

"First, you have to consider the opponent. Dzinziruk (37-1-, 23 knockouts) wasn’t well known in the United States but he was undefeated and insiders knew him to be a superb boxer, particularly his machine-like right jab."

"Martinez put Dzinziruk down in the fourth round, reportedly the first time Dzinziruk has ever been down in any fight at any level."

When was the last time that a Manny Pacquiao opponent got that much respect when they went up against him? Not since Oscar because of the weight thing. On ESPN Boxing. Sergio is considered the P4P#2 fighter over the inactive Floyd. While Manny is number 1 there. It's not like their really praising him as being the best. One more solid win against a solid opponent will seal the deal for Martinez and drop Pac down. That's not me hating but rather stating the obvious. Again, no one can take away Pac's accomplishments but as of now, he is not delivering and is soon to be replaced. Don't believe me? Ask ESPN....

Misses: Pacquiao should not be fighting Mosley, a once-great champion who was held to a draw in a horrible fight against Sergio Mora in September and who was wiped out in a near-shutout loss to Floyd Mayweather in his previous fight. Pacquiao is just picking up Mayweather's leftovers. Boxing fans deserve better.

And that's coming from Dan Rafael, one of the biggest Pac huggers.

YES. No matter how you try to discredit Sergio Martinez's opponents for the last two years, it holds no weight because them same opponents that you think are not worthy of being praise as solid opposition are considered as such and it is shown by how Martinez is getting the props for his comp while Pac isn't. The #1 P4P fighter in the world was just as active as a fighter that only hardcore boxing fans knew but Sergio Martinez gets the nod for FOTY? I know your excuse will be anyone can win it but if Pac was all that like he was previoulsy, he would have got the nod for 2010. How is stating the facts hating? The only one trying to throw dirt on Martinez are Pac fans. No one else.

Yo Jas, I only have my opinion but what I am stating is what the sport of boxing is saying. He became highly regarded after sensational wins against 3 solid opponents, one after the other. Where was Cotto/Clottey/Margarito on the P4P rankings or in the divisions for that matter? Give Martinez his props because everyone else is except Pac fans and it is starting to get harder to do for you guys.
