That's bull. Martinez is a small middleweight. He's grown into the heavier weight, but 168 is too big for Martinez. He's only 2 fights removed from 154...you know the same weight division in which Pacquiao just won a belt.

Secondly, a "full fledged welter weight" doesn't come in under the limit every fight, and Manny only puts on a few pounds if that the next day. Well he faced the lineal champ at 154 and won, the guy that was supposed to run circles around him. He then hit Mayorga so hard in the face dood thought he broke his hand.

Margarito at 154... life and death with a journeyman in Mexico and landed one meaningful punch against Manny. I mean Jesus, at least Cotto's fought two JMW Margarito only fought one and he gassed out in 8 rounds. Come fight night, the bigger fighter has eaten and rehydrated and is as much as 20lbs heavier back to their full strength and walking around weight. That's why Shane Mosley got beat twice to Vernon Forrest, and once to Winky Wright. That's why Oscar Dela Hoya got stopped with a body shot by Bernard Hopkins. That's why Juan Manuel Martinez looked so silly against Floyd Mayweather (FlOyd only fights smaller, one dimensional fighters anyway). Cotto had TWO things, seriously working against him by fighting Martinez. 1) Martinez is in his prime, and Cotto having too many wars is past his prime, and 2) Martinez will be much larger and stronger than Cotto; a recipe for getting knocked out early! If he thinks Pacquiao and Margarito bust him up, he won't know a beating like the one he will take, should he be ****** enough to fight Martinez. I think the only one in denial here is you.. margarito is a proven cheater. he was busted red handed.

In regards to if he beat Cotto fair or not.. we dont know. Thats why a rematch is in order.
