    Cotto needs to get some revenge and beat down Margarito but if that don't happen and Berto beats Ortiz I wouldn't mind seeing a Cotto Berto showdown that would be a big fight

I believe Sergio is a top 10 guy, but there's a lot to be desired on his resume, he's fought a lot of nobodies. I'm not saying it isn't his fault, the division is crap, but he is still highly overrated. He just has so many bad habits that all these slow moving plodders won't be able to expose as they aren't really good at boxing. Pavlik I think showed the best success at countering Sergio when he came and popping jab, of course this was until Sergio busted his face up some more, 154 I'll honestly take Cotto over Sergio not at 160 though. I don't remember Sergio ever having any power at 154 really, h'es in great shape at 160 so I see him losing a lot of muscle to hit 154 again.
      Don't agree with that statement as well. Sergio has had 2 debatable loses to Cintron (which he should of won) and the first Paul Williams fight. Then he moved up, got off the mat after a KD and outboxed Kelly Pavlik who was strictly known for his power. Then Martinez 2nd rd, KO's Paul Williams AND puts an undefeated champion, that has never been kd in his amatuer and professional career and is known as "The Razor" on the canvas 5 times. The sport of boxing regarding Sergei a better opponent for Martinez than Cotto, Clottey and Margarito put together for Pac. Cotto doesn't even have the full confidence yet to compete against a confident fighter like Martinez.

        Who were those slow plodders? Dzin? Williams? cintron? Even Pavlik is faster than Margarito.

            Sure they are all faster than Cheato, but thats like saying a turtle is fast because it would beat a snail in a race. They are still slow, but thats beside the point the only with any talent you listed is Pavlik. He had a lot of power, but he also had a very long amateur career, he turns with punches, picks them off with his gloves and most of all he was figuring Sergio out, once that happens there rarely is returning from that. Sergio did it though with a great shot in the face that busted Kelly open.

            Some people on here are amazing, you say a guy is overrated like Sergio and that has to mean the guy sucks. My point is that he's yet to be in a fight with a guy (aside from Kelly) who knows how to box and think in the ring. Williams just throws punches, Cintron is a ****ing bum period, Dzin all I hear is "he has a good jab" and he hadn't fought in two years, and he has no head movement, horrific footwork and I can keep going. My point ISN'T that Sergio sucks its that Manny beat Morales, Barerra, JMM, DLH, Cotto and a lot of guys who were far bigger than him to get #1 status. Sergio has beaten one guy who was arguably a top ten guy at the time and now Sergio is somehow the second best fighter in the world. My wife thinks he is hot as hell and because of that he is a great fighter is that how we think on boxingscene now?

              He dropped a guy who hadn't fought in two years that no one heard of, I'm sorry I am not impressed especially because Dzin looked like trash. Did your last statement really just say Dzin was a tougher challenge for Sergio than Cotto, Clottey and Margarito for Pac combined? I actually took you as an intelligent thoughtful poster on here, I may have to rescind that thought. When Cotto fought Pac it alone was a tougher fight than Dzin/Sergio come on man, lets be real, same goes for Clottey and Margarito. Just the sheer fact that they had like 15-20 pounds on Pac is a huge impact. Sergio won't even go up to 168 or at least catch weight with someone. He then answered he won't fight guys because they need more time... Where did this I'm the **** come from when his best seating was 5,000 people Sergio isn't a name like that and shouldn't be talking as if he was.

              I like Sergio, I think he has skill and he is a good fighter and like your signature over the past two years he's done a great job but 2 years of good boxing does not earn you P4P #2 status. His body of work before that, anyway you cut it was a loss to Margarito, Williams and Cintron. Sorry if I'm taking guys who have done a lot more in a longer amount of time.

                  Erroneous on all counts!!!!!

                  Nobodies???

                  1. Sergio demolished Pavlik who was lineal champ at 160. Lets not forget how Kelly got there... He destroyed Jermain Taylor who was lineal before him.. Jermain had convincingly beaten Hopkins who was lineal for HOW many years before that? No triangle theory being made here... Only reason why I bring it up is to show how deep the "lineal" lines lie before Sergio. And it runs deep with great champs

                  2. Paul Williams was and probably will be one of the most avoided boxers in the industry. He made Paul Williams sleepy time.... not decision or TKO....sleepy time.

                  3. Cintron, Margarito, Dzinziruk...

                  I agree that Mayweather is the best fighter P4P in the world... WHY?? Cuz he is the best... PERIOD. Not because what he has done or not done lately... But because he is the best technician in the sport...

                  Pacman = Diet Coke

                  Sergio = Coca Cola

                  Floyd = Rum and Coke!!!!!

                    I have to admit that I'm pissed off at the current state of boxing right now because some of you fans don't seem to get it. The more you defend your icons, the more likely these big fights don't happen. From day one, I've always been a big fan of Mayweather's skills but i have to be honest and say he looks like a punk right now. When a guy comes around and he fights better competition than anyone else, please give him the respect. You have a good amount of very skilled boxers fighting and wanted to fight the best while Mayweather and Manny continue to play their little games.

                    The argument some of you guys make is, Manny and Mayweather proved their greatness so they can do want and that includes fighting bums. I'm sorry but the moment a boxer starts to fight over the hill cupcake boxers, is the moment they start to decline in the rankings.

                      Why are people downplaying Sergio Martinez? Jeez, the guy does and is everything you would want in a fighter. Martinez isn't giving us exhibition fights ala Pacquiao. Obviously Martinez is doing things right because these Manny fans are obviously feeling threatened by his latest outings and accomplishments.
