I didnt say he would get whooped.. .I SAID.. he still beats canelo... what it means that even that cotto aint in his prime at this stage he can still beat canelo due to the circumstances. canelo is still in development and cotto is a veteran who have all the tools to dominate a green but getting better canelo if they fight right now.....

ps... no insults in this one??? hmmz.. Im amazed, seems like you got the message of how pathetic you look when u come back with insults but have no essence in your post..

You Puerto Rican's are relentless - almost as rabid as the Pinoy's.

Miguel Cotto has not had an impressive performance in years. He got destroyed by Antonio Margarito, got destroyed by Manny Pacquiao, and put on terrible performances against Yuri Foreman and just recently Ricardo Mayorga.

Face it, you nationalistic fanboys, Cotto is a stepping stone fighter. He is just enough of a name, and has fanboys like you who will watch him fight, and he's just enough of a draw to be put in against a guy like Alvarez and you guys won't know that it's a mismatch.

Canelo doesn't have good defense. He doesn't move his head. But he throws a lot of punches, and he hits very hard. Cotto on the other hand does not hit very hard, and he doesn't throw many punches at all. Yuri Foreman (who isn't very good and has no power) was outboxing Cotto and even on one leg, Cotto could not finish him off, just like he could not finish off 38 year old 3 pack a day alcoholic Mayorga even after Mayorga was so gassed that he was almost falling over just from throwing a punch.

That is your Puerto Rican idol. Miguel Cotto was just never that good to begin with, and I'm sorry if that offends you. I'm not saying it because he's Puerto Rican, as I have no bias and enjoy fighters of all races, religions, etc. It does not matter to me because I am a boxing fan. I will call a Mexican a bum when he's a bum and I'll call a Puerto Rican "not so good" when he's "not so good."

Put your flag aside and watch Cotto fight as a boxing fan and not a Puerto Rican and you will see what I'm talking about.

And Alvarez did beat the hell out of Hatton. Hatton had a wonderful performance in my view and isn't quite the bum that the commentators tried to make him out to believe, and he is not as bad as what people on boxingscene try to make it out to be.

Cotto can not deal with pressure fighters who throw a lot of punches, and Alvarez hits harder than anybody that's he's fought.

I like Cotto as a character, his persona is stone cold awesome but he is just not a top fighter, and despite his age, he is past it and when he goes up against elite fighters he will show how shot he is, as he did vs Pacquiao.

It is common knowledge that De La Hoya beat Trinidad handily and made it look easy to hit him at will, yet you have a gif of that dreadful decision in your sig, and I have the agenda?

Your bias is clear. I have none.
