When I was watching the Canelo-Hatton match I found myself visualizing Cotto in there with Canelo----this is a fight Cotto wins, Canelo has no head movement and isn't powerful enough to even knock ww matthew hatton down---Cotto all the way (GBP will never make the fight, and the WBC is protecting Canelo)

Cotto's too smart for Alvarez and hits maybe a little too hard for what Canelo's been used to up till now.
Alvarez also isn't your quintessential Mexican pressure fighter. He's a lot more patience and tries Boxing more than brawling. I believe even Alvarez being bigger than Cotto, he gets hurt in the fight with counter left hook both to the head and body from Cotto.

Who the hell has canelo fought? His resume sucks and he has almost 40 fights?!? Then we have these mexicans calling boricuas fanboys because they think that cotto will beat canelo. Canelo needs to defend that belt of his against a top 10 fighter or else hell be just like Berto and that other fraud chavez jr.

Cotto does not have what it takes to take on a guy of Alvarez' size, pressure, and power. Miguel gets brutalized.
While Canelo is a good young fighter hes faced NOBODY who could really challenge him. Hasnt faced a top teir fighter yet. He'd be in a whole different fight against Cotto.
The dude couldn't take out Hattons brother who was fighting above his weight-class.
Win loose or draw Cotto would give him hell.....

This would be a good fight. Two accurate power punchers. One has lost a lot of speed throughout the years and many wars. The other isn't blessed with the best handspeed but his pinpoint accuracy and natural pop makes up for his other shortcomings. I think at 154 lbs, Canelo would have a hard time hitting Cotto and Cotto would have many openings to pick his shots and pile on the points throughout the rounds. I think Canelo is tough enough to stick in there all 12 rounds and hit Cotto from time to time but most of the rounds would go to Cotto.

Really doesn't make too much sense.
