look, dzinzurik is a master technician, and martinez blew him out the water. williams was supposed to beat the hair piece and piss out of him, twice, didn't, pavlik was supposed to be too big and strong, even still dealing the hopkins loss he was looked at in having the edge in their fight.

he cracked cintron so hard with a shot that kermit thought it was a headbutt. prior to the margarito fight he was undefeated and although against guys with so so records, a lot of those guys had a lot of fight experience and after that loss to margarito he's gone on undefeated and only gotten better as the competition has gotten tougher and more along the top level.

his training is superb, like floyds, manny's, hopkins, and the like, those guys at that super high level of just awesome fitness, he's that disciplined. he gets great leverage on his punches, has speed, a chin, great stamina, i mean cmon, dude is a stud at least and is becoming a beast ko'ing guys who have been known to have solid chins, he cracked them.

he's already proven that he's not a flash in the pan, he's lost, and only gotten better from it, a true professional. he can lose, there is a style and a will out there who can beat him, they just have to negotiate something fair for both and make it happen, whoever is first.

right now sergio is going to get names only, even if he loses he'll still get top names because of his overall skill and power, the only thing that stops him is if he gets completely outclassed, beat up, and knocked the **** out. and as of right now, even some of the bigger dudes sharking around out there in the deeper weights, i don't see anyone blowing martinez out the water, i only see him making a hell of a fight out of it.

just sayin, he's passed all the tests, and if he had a chance at margarito, he'd probably kill him............ from landing 100% of all power punches....
Nice post man..............Sergio is a very good fighter no doubt,i just think there are guys who can give him a run for his money, basically all i am saying is the guy is not as unbeatable as people might think.

I don't see how anyone can hate on a guy who came out of nowhere and just smashed the top guys.

Martinez definitely got that mentality to dare to be great.
No hate for Sergio he is a very good fighter,i just think his hype is going a bot overboard.

Martinez deserves all the praise he's receiving, this guy is really trying to be the best. It's refreshing hearing a guy say he lives boxing, this is it for him he's not trying to star in movies, shoot rap videos, run for office, ect. He's trying to be an elite world class fighter and be recognized as the p4p best.

In regards to Pirog, it's just ridiculous to hear people say he's avoiding him. I like the kid but who the hell is Pirog? Dzin was a more respectable opponent at this particular time regardless of what anybody says. Had Martinez blown Pirog out of the water tonight, everybody would be saying he picked on a green/unexperienced fighter who had no business being in the same ring as Sergio. Yes he showing good skills and has a good win against Jacobs, but answer me this. What would Martinez do to Jacobs if they fought right now? EXACTLY!

Martinez will fight Pirog who is a great talent and one of the best in the division right now(the division is shallow as **** but there ares some great up and coming fighters). Like I said if none of the jr Middle stars step up that will probably be the next fight, it's nothing about ducking and dodging. Pirog and Dzinziruk have the same name level for the casuals but it just happened to be that Shaw is promoting Dzinziruk. It's as much about politics then anything else in this game.
How is ok for Sergio to fight guys coming up in weight, but for others it isnt.

When did Martinez become a huge Middleweight? He moved up himself to get the big fights, Dzinziruk and Williams tried the same thing but got sparked out. He deserves the respect, you can't compare it to other big fighters looking to fight small fighters.

I think he is getting some deserved love, really.

I mean the man is at an age where most guys are slowing down, but he's really just getting started.

he is active, and so far is fighting very good opposition, i mean id rather see a guy like Dzinzurk get the shot than a shopworn name from the past.

I think he's going the right way about things, he needs to stay at 160 and fight the best guys who will challange him, I don't think 168 would be good for him, even a guy like froch could be real trouble up there, due to being so much bigger and hitting so much harder.

i really don't get that either. taylor fights spinks and he's crucified. hopkins fights guys who used to be smaller but are now at middleweight and he gets crucified. martinez fights guys who are smaller and "wow he's fighting a legit opponent"

He looks like a normal sized Mw to me,and hasnt he stated that the cut to 154 kills him?

In a recent boxingscene.com article, Dibella said a fight between WBC middleweight king Martinez and Pirog "doesn’t make any sense” because Dibella doesn’t perceive Pirog as a winning draw, or a fighter that will bring a lot of money and fans to the table.

Dibella said: "I'm the promoter. I've been told by my fighter that he's got two years left [before he retires.] I'm not fighting guys who don't bring 50 cents to the table. [Pirog] doesn't make any sense.”

dibella exposed! the same 2.4 million was in the pot no matter who the opponent was. pirog and dzinziruk being draws or bringing money to the table is irrelevant. hbo brings the money. he's lying and misinforming people. do dzinziruk or pirog bring anything to the live gate? nope so thats a mute point.

they actually overpaid dzinziruk 850k of that 2.4 pot. they could have taken more of the pot and offered pirog a fight which he surely would have taken(he fought for 50k against jacobs) this is a clear duck to me. he actually went out of his way to make sure a pirog fight didn't happen.

Look at the guys body of work. The only reason he went up to Middle was because Pavlik pulled put against Williams in the first fight. Then he took the fight against Pavlik while looking much smaller then Pavlik in the first fight(it's understandable since Pavlik is a big middleweight). Pretty sure he said he would take on Cotto or Pac at 154 but I'm to lazy to looking it.(Plus I'm trying to win some money at poker right now )
