He's a a balls out type of fighter and is not afraid of the lime light.
I think it was him beginning to pace himself though, and take rounds off actually - because of fatigue.
While watching the fight and chatting with a buddy on yahoo, I remember telling him during round 5 - .. Actually I'll just paste it. I am "fucin_ill"
Round 5 -
fucin_ill: there it is again..
WOW
yo... MARTINEZ I LOVE YOU!
Chillpill___:OH MY GOD
fucin_ill: Dizzy really ****ed himself...
martinez was in the process of starting his 3 round breather and dizzy goes
and gets himself knocked down... early second wind coming right up.
After a scare that i thought was him resting in the seventh round.. here is my reaction to the 8th
fucin_ill: sergio woke up again.. check out the head movement
this might be it
Chillpill___: WHOA
fucin_ill: slippin punches n stuff again
ANOTHER ONE
Chillpill___: OH MY
fucin_ill: YO!!! YESSSSSSSSSS
Lol. I've gotten use to sergio taking 3 rounds off and then turning it on again.. I thought I called it in the fifth but as I said - the knockdown at the end of it gave him a bit of a boost and prolonged his rest.

I personally like Sergio at 3 or 4.. But if he is to be number 3 behind mayweather then I'd have to agree that number 2 is a worthy spot since floyd doesn't fight anymore.

Sergio Martinez is OVERHYPED?!?!?
who does he have to beat the breaks off next for dudes to give him his due?....if ANY of those 168 pounders think about coming down to 160...he'll spank their ass...ANY one of them including the S6 dudes....any 147 pounder who wanna be great and tries testing out the 160 pound crown....he'll get his head boxed and knocked the hell off....the so called best 154 pounder showed you how the rest of the 54'ers would do in Sergio's house....when he knocked Paul down in their first epic war....I took notice right then....I was kinda suspect about Serg before that but when he dropped Paul after taking a eight count himself in the same round....I was like ok...dude is the truth....denial wore off and now I see dude for what he really is....a KING!!!

Sergio has a lot of potencial, and a lot of obvious fights to make.
If he beats:
- Alfredo Angulo
- Kirkland
- That guys who KTFO Jacobs(forgot the name)
- Chavez Jr.(big name...)
- Sturm
He does not need WW and SMW to be considered great.
