There is currently no one in the Hall of Fame who has never been a lineal champion and who has only been ranked #1 in any division for a single fight - that's just a fact.

Ward hasn't got a hope in hell of getting in. Gatti is very unlikely to get in, but if he does, it won't be because of his resume or who he fought, it will only because he was in so many fights of the year. Cotto doesn't have any fights of the year on his record, except for one he lost badly.

You say he fought everyone, and that's admirable, but no one got into the Hall of Fame for that reason alone. Plus it isn't true anyway. He didn't fight the best at Jr Welterweight or at Jr Middleweight. Welterweight is the only division in which you can argue that he fought everyone, and while not his fault, even at Welterweight it isn't true, because he didn't fight Mayweather. And at Welterweight he was badly beaten in two out of his three defining fights.

Only Cotto, and that's a maybe.

Margarito will never be in the Hall of Fame because of su****ions that he cheated.

Mosley and Oscar have both been Lineal Champions.

                Right.

That's why I said the majority and simply being a 3 weight champion doesn't mean your going to be a HOF'er.

Cotto has not had anything like such an impact outside the ring. And in any case, he was the lineal champion, unlike Cotto.

There is no one in the Hall of Fame who has never been a lineal champion and who has only been ranked #1 in any division for a single fight. It is nowhere near as easy to get in as you pretend. If it was, you wouldn't be bringing up a fighter who got in for reasons that had nothing to do with his record in the ring, but the truth is you brought him up because he was the only fighter you could think of, which shows how weak your point was.
                  Perhaps, perhaps not.

Cotto has maintained the PR audience glued to their PPV channels for the last few years, he may not be considered Tito's successor, but he has done well for himself. He is currently motivating and promoting the young up and comers on the island through his JV with Golden Boy and Miguel Cotto Promotions putting on constant shows on the island, bringing in other fighters and contenders from Mexico and the USA...

Get real, Cotto has done and is continuing to have plenty of impact on the sport.

Why are people saying Cotto? He's lost all the major fights he was involved in. He beat Mosley, but that was a passed prime Mosley, and Cotto was practically running from the old man for the last 3 rounds.

They were both lineal champions, what are you talking about? De La Hoya was a three division lineal champion (see here). Mosley won the Lineal Welterweight title from De La Hoya, and successfully defended it 5 times; and Mosley was also recognised as being the #1 at Lightweight for a long time, whereas Cotto was only recognised as the #1 in any division for one fight.
