Dela Hoya Believed The Same Of Himself!
Dela Hoya says all the right things for why he believes Mayweather would beat Pacquiao. Oscar says "he has this, he does that, and for those reasons he beats Manny". Really? It's that easy Oscar? You probably thought you were best equipped to beat Mosley, Trinidad, Hopkins, Mayweather and Pacquiao the same ways you think 'your guy' Mayweather should beat Pacquiao. Then WHY didn't it work out for you Oscar against those fighters you lost to??? Because the way you size up a fight on paper doesn't always turn out that way. You have to factor in Intelligence, Heart, Courage, Strength, and so many other variables that aren't so easy to factor in. The worst thing working AGAINST Floyd, is he DOESN'T want to fight Manny and risk his "0". The difference is Manny WANTS to fight Floyd, win, lose, or draw, and that WANT vs a DONT WANT, is a huge factor for winning a fight. Mayweather is scared, has had TWO chances to sign with Manny and opted to go hide. Everyone else has lined up to fight Manny. You can't win a fight scared.

You know damn well Floyd is not coming to cover up in a high guard and take a beating...
FLOYD IS GONNA RAIN ON MANNY'S ASS.

Very well said DLH, now tell that to Floyd and tell him to get in the ring to whoop mannys ass.
Tell him Pac dont need no OSDT, and styles make fights and you think hes got they style to handle pac and that OSDT is irrelevant.

Originally posted by The Ninth Layer View PostI'm a fan of both Floyd and Manny, and I think talking about who wins the fight is going to always be a manner of opinion. Floyd is the best defensive fighter in the sport today, and Manny is the best offensive fighter in the sport. Their match-up would be a true clash of fighter vs boxer, and while it's easy to say that Manny could catch Floyd and knock him out if anyone can, or that Floyd would outbox Manny for twelve rounds, the truth is that it's anybody's fight.
Mayweather has never fought a fighter as skilled at pressuring as Pacquiao, and has shown he has trouble against southpaws in the first Jose Luis Castillo fight in which he was lucky to win. He's also older than he once was and (as Freddie Roach has been claiming) it's possible some of Mayweather's footwork activity has dropped off.
Pacquiao meanwhile has had trouble with fast boxers and counterpunchers, as we saw in both Juan Manuel Marquez fights and the first half of the Erik Morales trilogy. He hasn't in fact fought a skilled counterpuncher since Marquez, unless you count Josh Clottey, who landed effectively on Pacquiao on those few occasions he actually tried for the punch. Granted, Pacquiao has gotten a lot more skilled since the second Marquez fight.
I think this fight is Mayweather's to lose. When an equally skilled boxer and brawler meet in the ring, the boxer usually comes out ahead. But it'll take twelve rounds of full focus for Mayweather to accomplish it. Pacquiao throws a ton of punches and knows how to move in and out of range between his flurries, so unless Mayweather's laser counter right hand can keep Manny from opening up, Floyd is going to have a lot of pressure on him the whole fight. I don't think we'll see Manny tentatively standing around like Mosley did.
It's nice to see talks of the fight happening coming from both sides now so let's hope it gets made for the summer or November.
So many flaws in your statement....throwing a bunch of punches doesn't make u the best offensive fighter in the game. Hell, Clottey stood right in front of him and he barely cleared a 30% connect rate against him. And since when has Manny became a "pressure" fighter? He's just an aggressive counter puncher. For every one u throw, he tries to counter in multiples. Step your boxing game up.

Against a Southpaw the Shoulder Roll is nullified, thus no rolling and firing back with uppercuts or straights like he's done before.

I love you, but you don't promote either guy at the moment, and you've said this **** a million times already.
If *******s like this didn't stick their noses into the fight so much it might already be made.
Oscar also said Hatton would beat Mayweather. Chill out with these picks, Golden Boy.
