People underestimate manny's toughness, I suppose those early losses are always going to count against him. I think manny might just have too much speed work rate and movement, he would have to fight a very smart fight though which I think he is capable of now.

Roach made his remark as regards Pac and duran many moons ago, and it was a lightweight fight. Roach has said Pac is the best ever fighter as well many times.

Pacs prime is better than Durans prime. Duran lost to Laing and i know for a fact that Pac would have been slaughtered verbally if he lost to Laing, because lets face it people slaughter Pac for having tough fights with JMM. The expectations of Pac are highter, whereas people excuse Duran for losses to Laings of this world because people expect less of Duran. It would be like Pac losing to Margarito and todays version of Margarito is still more highly celebrated than Laing anyway.
And Pac wouldnt ever lose to Margarito anyway.

I have eyes, Duran's defense is better than Pacqiauo's.

Duran is 5-2 at 154, it arguablly his worst weight class and he was coming off a loss. He was NOT prime. That's all there is too it.

The thread is about a 140weight fight. Duran had enough problems with Buchanan and Pac knocked out potential best british fighter ever in 2 rounds so that gets me thinking.

Pacs defense cant be that bad because he isnt being knocked out, and unless he has got the toughest chin in the world it tells me Pac is probably not getting hit cleanly as much as you think he does. Otherwise he would be knocked out like Duran was against Hearns. Maybe Pac has a great chin then, and thats another reason Pac would do well. It all looks good whichever way you paint it.

Plus he is outpointing people as a matter of course. So Pac must have either an ability to not get hit much, or the ability to hit people real good. If its the latter, thats another reason Pac beats Duran.

Pacquiao was never meant to beat Cotto, De La Hoya or Margarito. Yet Pac didnt just beat these guys, he destroyed them. Pacquiao is a killer right now. Pacquiaos speed and movement will cause Duran alot of problems. Pacquiao is also a southpaw which makes him even harder to beat.

No doubt in my mind that Duran wins,either by close but clear decision or by late stoppage,people seem too forget just how good the guy was,and hes actually a bad style match-up for pac too
