It's only until after JMM leaves GBP that Arum will offer the fight, and probably force him to like a 2 fight contract. Wow....touche you greedy fcking pig...touche.

JMM has a hard style to beat and the weight limit might be 147 lbs, but I guarantee you that Manny will weigh no more than 144 lbs (probably closer to 142 lbs to maintain the speed needed versus a JMM) and JMM will probably be around 141 or 142 lbs. So, if they both weigh 142 lbs, that would be a catchweight type fight without the 'catchweight' stipulation that everyone hates so much...

All of them are idiots though, none of the smart ones who are not Pac fans liked this fight at all...The smart ones agreed that about 135 it was a pointless fight.
Ahhh so they mean 'A whole lot of idiots made this claim'

Still baffled people are concerned with what clear idiots think.

No one with a brain cell wants to see Manny put a beating on JMM at 140+, especially considering Marquez has shown he can't fight there.

This is nothing new, my friend! Holyfield said he would never sign with Don King but he did to get the Tyson fight. That was the only way he was going to get that fight in 1996 when everyone considered Holyfield washed up when he looked terrible against Bobby Czyz and got KO'd by Bowe in the previous fight...

JMM has made some dumb career decisions (like turning down $750k for a rematch with Pacquiao and taking $30k to go to Indonesia and lose to Chris John) so he is doing what he needs to do to get the fight he wants. Dude is 37 years old, maybe only a handful of fights left at the elite level, he needs to do what is best for him...

That quote is not a fake. I saw the clip on Philippine tv (GMA network, I think). He was being interviewed by a bunch of reporters when he said it.

Back on topic... Lets not act like this is the second coming of BHop v RJJ II. If it pushest through, the media will eat it up and so will the viewing public. However, it is not a good fight IMO. JMM should not be fighting above 135.

If Bradley gets the W over Khan or Berto KOs Ortiz, they should be on Bob's short list for Pac in Nov. Berto is fast and aggressive, but clinches a lot and a bit chinny. Bradley is a tough SoB. Win or lose, either would make for an exciting fight.

I really cant see a problem with this fight, people will say its another cherry pick if its not at 135, but the're just saying that because they know Pac wont to go down that far, i mean it outrageous for Cotto to shed 1 or 2 pound but not for Pac to go down 10 pounds.

Ideally, yes, the fight would be at 135 not only because that's Marquez best weight, but also give PAc the chance to win the Ring and Lineal title there. 140 or dare i say it, a catchweight of 142, is a good completive fight.

It would've been great if it were at 135. Manny could've had his 5th linear there.

Bradley and Marquez with Arum soon. Maybe Khan in the future if his father allows him to fight Manny.

People seem to forget that Arum had offered the trilogy two years ago as alternative to the botched Mayweather negotiation. Clottey would never have been in the picture. GBP practically turned it down by insisting on 50/50 split plus OST demands. I would guess that Schaefer did all the talking without consulting Marquez.

Then late last year, GBP did the talking again for Marquez demanding more than half of what they paid Marquez in the Mayweather fight. Now if GBP was really serious in looking after Marquez's welfare they would have budge on Arum's offer. In the end, GBP offered Berto, Khan and Morales as alternative to the Pac fight. Far less than what they rejected. Two are high risk/low rewards.

All good points. I like how you say if Berto KO's Ortiz as opposed to just winning. Berto hasn't looked spectacular since the Rodriguez fight in June 2008 (I don't count the Freddy Hernandez fight, I agree with Merchant about being a weak opponent). So, a devastating and clear cut victory over Ortiz should get Berto's name in the hat...
