Why people constantly bring up De la Hoya is amazing to me. BEFORE the fight, everyone is screaming that De La Hoya was a cherry picker..

AFTER the fight, everyone says Pacquiao is the cherry picker... WHAT???

Seriously, who though Pac was gonna beat DLH???? He moved up 2 weight classes to fight him bro, come one now.

    • what the fck is the point of fighting someone you already beat at least once and put on the canvas 4 times?!! jmm isn't even remotely close to pac's level pound for pound right now, much less at pac's own weight.

i know pac just wants to shut that pissdrinking, korean eggroll gobbling mouth but come the fck on!!! even if pac KO's this guy in the first round, i won't give him credit, this fight is just that dumb.

        Hey baby ^^

I thought you and me were all good now?

          2008 was.

But that was the old Pac, not the "new" and "improved" version.

          Hatton..... yea, but.

I just don't rate the Cotto win as highly as most other posters seem to.

Margarito and Clottey both battered Cotto. EVERYBODY was saying that Cotto looked shop-worn and faded after Clottey. Miguel was not on top of his game, he had no trainer to speak of, and he most certainly was not in his prime..... plus, Pacquiao tried to drain him on the scales.

Thats was NOT a prime Cotto, and the catch-weight demand soured that achievement even further. But it was obvious that would always happen had Pac won, so nobody can be too surprised about that now.

Marquez had a better chance of beating Pac back in 2008, than ANY of Manny's opponents since.

Obviously that is no longer the case.

Secondly, what I meant was, Floyd became P4P number 2 after the Marquez win. What do you think that was?

I also feel yes he deserved that spot, but in some ways, he was given that spot on his performance VS Marquez.
Aaah ok, sorry I missed that.

Yes, good point, but the problem is, there is so much conjecture about P4P qualification criteria. Which is why I do not rate P4P status very highly.

P4P status, does not have to be " earnt ".

It is not awarded on merit.

It is a theoretical " guess ", which imho, should be solely based around the latin phrase caeteris paribus, "all things being equal".

It does not factor in a HUGE number of things, and nor should it.

            P4P rankings are simply, overrated.

When Mayweather was awarded P4P #2, that was factoring in who he was, and the fact that he was back..... nothing more.

              Come on man.

Haye beat a guy who was a foot taller than him, and 100lbs heavier.

You telling me that was a great win ?

Let me document Hoya's " transition " down to 147 for ya......

145 = Two weeks before the fight

              145 = At the official weigh-in

              145 = On fight-night

Can you really not see what happened there ?

Have you really never seen what a healthy Hoya looks like ?

He was literally a dead man walking, or sitting, as the case may be.

Yes that was a b1tch move by Hoya, and yes it backfired, and yes Manny was superb..... but dude, you wanna see me work the bag

It's about who you fought, and when you fought them.

he signs to fight mosley and it's "manny is ducking marquez"

after manny destroys both, it will be "manny is ducking berto"

It's not manny's fault floyd is in that witness protection program.

                  • At the end of the day Arum will have a monopoly on the top fist fighters in the world. It's free enterprise at it's best and worst.
Oscar will struggle unless he can find a way for Golden Boy to go public.

                    • This is awesome.

People were crying, s hitting all over themselves and bleeding from their rectums because Manny didn't sign to fight Marquez in May.

Now, its possible this trilogy could be done in November,

and people are still crying, s hitting all over themselves and bleeding from their rectums.

Exactly the same thing that happened in regards to Mosley.
Many of us knew it would happen with Marquez too.

I love it. I love it because it shows that no matter who this guy fights,

                      it hurts their feelings.
