Cotto is going to box Mayorga to death. He's not the same hunter-destroyer kind of fighter he used to be but he's going to land big body shots and probably get the stoppage. Mayorga's taken so much punishment that if Cotto can't stop him, it's a bad sign for Miguel going forward.

Margarito's camp said they are having another tune up against Roberto Garcia, support that....
That's not going to happen. Even if Mayorga finds a miracle to win and fights Margarito, I would still have the same feelings on a joke of a fight mentality.

It's not ignorant, I'm as real as it gets. Yes I do sometimes talk shit about Rican posters to get them all heated up and laugh about it, but I haven't done that in a while. Just cause you don't agree with it, makes it ignorant. Also, it's funny how you don't really say anything about PRboxingcotto, that guy has to be the biggest idiot on this site.

I expect Cotto/Mayorga to be entertaining but competitive. One sided on the scorecards but very intriguing. Tito beat Mayorga up but Oscar dominated him more. Mayorga was hitting Tito, Tito was just getting off more. That was competitive type of beat down, if you feel what I’m saying.
Hell, he fought Shane Mosley on almost even terms AFTER he was knocked out by Oscar... Many boxing purists I know had Mosley up by only 1 point going into that last round.
As for Cotto, he certainly has the skills to beat Mayorga but his chin is very questionable after Marg/Pac beat down...remember he was rocked by a light puncher named yuri foreman in the early rounds. Imagine what Mayorga's power can do. Some say Mayorga has gotten into Cotto's mindset already. Again, this will be entertaining and competitive!

Who is Steward trying to kid?

Why would he expect the best Mayorga yet? He hasn't had a legit fight in over 2 years. He hasn't won a legit fight in over 3 years in which he won a MD over Vargas who was coming off two stoppages to Mosley. Ontop of that he's overweight.

The best Mayorga is long gone, and certainly won't be showing up in March.

                  agreed.

i thought cotto looked poor against yuri foreman, but he went some way to rebuilding his confidence... and maybe will see more evidence of the difference manny steward is making with him in his next couple of fights....

margarito's not a bad option next, but i'd recommend cotto to take on a few more easier fights to really rebuild himself and then go for the better guys...

but he didn't do that after the margarito fight, so why would he do it at this juncture?

mayorga is completely finished, its the only reason cotto's taking the fight - it's a nice easy win so he can get back in the groove before fighting a serious challenger....

mayorga's entertaining... sure... but he's got absolutely no chance....

past performances count for nothing, when you're coming off a 2year layoff and your hardly health conscious.... added to that the come-back fight you had was at a higher weight against a bum....

nice tune-up for cotto before he gets to give margarito the whooping he deserves....

sure cotto's about a 1/4 of the fighter he once was... still too much for mayorga at this point whose about 1/10 of the fighter that beat vernon forrest.
You said it all with intelligence and knowledge.
This is not a fight: It is a novelty act.
