I understand Pac could have been a little bit more tougher with the way Arum seem to be conducting business around Pac's name but because Pac gets paid he doesnt seem to mind which is a shame.

oh please..be real. i'd bet you'd be singing a different tune if pac had fought mosley instead of cotto, you'd be like 'why did pac fought the loser of cotto-mosley?'. mosley signed up for berto during the pac-cotto fight. you'd be dumb to call this as pac ducking mosley. then pac had to fight either march or later because of congress elections, and what top WW was available at that time , around january, aside from floyd, mosley/berto who were all unavailable?

the only time it makes sense to call that team pac avoided mosley was after the clottey fight. yet, soon after this, may had beaten mosley already

I'll defer to grustlers post with Roach's comments ifyou think Pac didn't duck Mosley. Oh yeah, he fought Cotto, but not at 147 (the weight he beat Mosley at)

Manny had ample opportunity to fight Shane Mosley. I'm not saying he ducked Shane for Clottey. I'm saying if they wanted to fight Shane they could've gotten it done.

For 2009 sure, but not for 2010.

You and I have discussed this before. Remember, HBO paid Berto a fee for moving off the Mosley fight. YES there was the earthquake but HBO definitely worked behind the scenes on that.

But, Floyd fight was going to happen in May. Pac couldn't fight later than March because he was running for congress.

Mosley was at the end of training camp. He had ample time to rest from the Berto training camp and start things back up in Feb/March for the Floyd fight in May. And, don't forget that Floyd-Mosley got signed done after negotiations in February.

With Pac it would be different because for Mosley to be ready by the March date he wouldn't have that time to rest and would have had almost 2 full training camps literally back-to-back.

Pac-Floyd negotiations failed around mid January is when the talks pretty much ended. So then you have to take into account that now Top rank and Golden boy will have to negotiate for a Pac-Mosley fight that more than likely would have been done and signed by February for a March date mind you. It's more than likely that TR and GBP would have taken longer than what Floyd-Mosley did to get it done. So it seems unrealistic that in mid January that a fight with Mosley would have gotten done and be ready to go by March.

What they bring to the table is that they're top prime fighters. Which is something that can not be said with Pac recent oppositions and perhaps future opposition. Not saying they can beat Pac. I don't think Berto last 5 more than 5 rounds against Pac. But, here is the thing fights are won in the ring not on paper.

Bradley is a top prime 140-lber no doubt, but what the hell has Berto done at 147 to make that claim? Struggle against Quintana?

Are you really asking this question? Seriously? Think about it...

I am, Berto has done nothing to distinguish himself in Boxing and is no more of a threat to Manny than Chavez is, probably less because of the size difference. And for all the people who get hard over meaningless undefeated records, 42-0>27-0. Plus Chavez is 100X the draw Berto is. Not saying I want to see Pacquiao-Chavez, but you'd have to work really hard to make a case that Pacquiao-Berto would be a bigger fight.

Haters will always hate no doubt. But, Pac-Bradley at 140 that would mean more to Pac legacy than Pac-Mosley at 147. Pac-Berto to unify 147 would mean more to Pac legacy than Pac-Margarito at a catch-weight of 150 for a vacant BS WBC title.

Pacquiao only fought once at 140 and took the lineal championship away from Hatton in one of the most memorable one punch KOs ever in just 2 one-sided rounds. I think his legacy there is sealed, however brief the campaign was

I know that. But there's a lot of people out there who think just because Marquez gave two good showings against Manny years ago at 125-130 that it would be the same against today's Pac at 147. These people are gravely mistaken.

But the history between the two would make for an easy promotion and it's probably the most lucrative fight out there, especially now that Marquez is pulling a Mosley.

Personally I don't think anyone out there right now from 135-147 can pose any real threat to Pac, so any fight is technically a waste of time... but a lot of people wouldn't mind having their time wasted by a Pac-Marquez trilogy or maybe even Pac-Bradley, Berto, Chavez, etc. If the Clottey and Margarito fights proved anything, it's that people want to see Manny fight, regardless of who it is. Same thing will happen in May- lots of whining about boycotts, etc than the returns will come in and it'll be another blockbuster.

Berto knocks pac out cold, pac is a face first brawler, berto is too young too fresh and hits too hard the complete opposite of everybody pac fights, its a fight well never see because frankly pac doesnt have the balls.nor do his team want a surefire loss.
