Then he got the BIG fight with ODLH at 147 lbs, and don't criticize that, who wouldn't take the huge Oscar payday. So, next time before spouting off, make sure you get your facts straight. You can't duck somebody when you are weighing 12 pounds less at the time. Duh!!
exactly my point!!!! dude is making no sense....he is pretty much owned....

Pac fought Clottey after the Cotto fight so your argument about Cotto looking like **** against Clottey does not stick. He fought both fighters successively.

And besides Clottey has always been a difficult against the top WW(other than Pac).. His close loses against Margarito and Cotto is a testament to that.
you might not agree with this but, i really think clottey took a dive vs pac. my reason is as you state he is always a tough fight. vs pac he hardly even tried to fight. and when he threw a few punches he landed at will. but he didnt follow up and press the attack. he did not look like the j clottey we are used to seeing. and i dont attribute his lack of action to pacs offense. he just did not fight. that fight smelled very bad to me. i thought clottey would hand pac a loss. but he didnt try to fight he just covered up and threw a few punches and went back into his shell. that fight stunk, not due to pac but clottey not fighting. looked like greg louganis going for gold.

bro ODLH quit in his stool in the 8th round...did u forget??? margo fought for full 12 rounds with a broken orbital...now tell me again who is tougher?

Clottey has more to gain in winning than losing. If this was any other fight, then you might have an argument even if its slim. But a mega-fight of that magnitude you dont pass up, and you certainly wouldnt take a dive.. Thats just ******.

Pac chose to fight after each fighter was beaten, you know and I know that is the truth. So let's not celebrate this dude like he beat a bunch of undefeated or even streaking fighters because he didn't. On the other hand Floyd beat Marquez and Mosley while Pac was avoiding both of them not after but while. Bottom line Pac turned down 50 million+ for 15 million over blood testing. You can try to make all the sense in the world of that but that would clearly be **** because it is what it is and there is absolutely no excuse for it!!!!!!
well spoken, i 2nd this, thats exactly what freddy roach was doin with the pacman, waitn for the other fighters to get weaker and age...lol ...now all of a sudden pacman's the best...where was freddy roach and pacman after mosley dusted off margarito?, ill tell you, they wanted no part of the sugar man at that time, ,lol... but the *******s forget that one.

you might think its a ****** theory, but why do men get in the ring and fight? for financial gain. clottey had never made more than a million dollars befor the pac fight. if i were clottey and i was paid 2 or 3 million to take a dive? its a done deal. why would bob pay for that? because now pac looks really good vs a very tough fighter who gave pure hell to every one he fought. until he fought pac. i went back and looked at a lot of clotteys fights then i looked at him vs pac. there is no way you can convience me he didnt take a dive.he hardly fought back thats not the clottey i know. and money in hand trumps perhaps money any day.

                • Some of you guys are making this way too damn complicated. Everyone knew that Larry Merchant was losing it but he is pretty much dead on in this interview. Manny and Mayweather are the two best fighters right now and both have ducked opponents because the risk outweighed the reward. To me, this Merchant is senile but he said all the right things in this interview.

shane was even willing to drop down to 140 to fight pac but roach told him, "your too good" shane was turned down twice. but now he gets his opportunity. pacs swiss cheese defense vs shanes two fist hammers i bet on shane

                    • no one should dispute how great Manny is and his legacy but here's the thing, Manny fighting JMM, Barrera, and Morales is far better than his recent opponents. His legacy should be from those fights not these recent fights and Mayweather has been fighting cans also.
