If you think Cotto was not that great then so is Shane because he did lose to Cotto, right? How can you think so much of Shane and then look down on Cotto. Really confusing..
I am not mad just amused.. Roach says a lot of stuff, and in most cases he flip flops those statements in every interview. His credibility is not exactly something that you can use to argue with because they are not accurate all the time..Comment

Mayweather Is ALL About The "0"... "0" Risk!
I agree with Larry Merchant. Mayweather wanted no part of those fighters he named; wanting the easiest, non risky route to the bank. Floyd is stalling as long as he can in hopes of someone else beating Manny, so he doesn't have to step into the ring with Pacquiao. Wise on Floyds part, cause he would get hurt and knocked out against Manny. Just shows you where Floyds level of courage is in comparison to all these other fighters who have stepped in and gave their best against Manny. Mayweather is gutless.Comment

Merchant's a total ***wit, he screwed his credibility a long time ago.Merchant has never liked Floyd and should keep his name out of his very biased mouth. How do you duck Margarito for a much tougher, bigger fish in Oscar? And how do you duck Cotto when you called him out several times when you were a light-wt and he was a Jr-Welter-wt? When does the bigger name, more successful fighter fight on the smaller name guy's terms? Larry Merchant's mouth in one of the things wrong with boxing. One minute he says boxing is a business of good decisions then he says Floyd avoided a fighter to fight a far more lucrative fight. Matter of fact the most lucrative fight in boxing history to this date but at the same time its cool for Manny to fight 7 consecutive fighters coming off of huge losses. STFU Larry.Comment

Post this in every PACvsPBF thread and will shut that thread down, true'er have never been spoken.just because he has all those advantages and would probably win doesn't have anything to do with him duckin Pac. I agree that he'd be the favorite, and would probably win, yet, as Larry pointed out, he's not 110% sure he'd win like he was when fighting Marquez, Mosely, etc. There is that doubt.
If this fight never happens, it's a disgrace. and the blame goes to everyone - Pac for not initially agreeing to take the tests; Arum for making the negotiations public, Floyd for "taking a vacation" last summer, Ellerbe for denying negotiations even took place, etc. etc. etc.

I never thought Cotto was that great from the beginning and everyone on here should know that by now about me. Pac didn't want to fight Mosley and he KO'd Margarito, who TKO'd Cotto. Cotto beat Shane at 147.If you think Cotto was not that great then so is Shane because he did lose to Cotto, right? How can you think so much of Shane and then look down on Cotto. Really confusing..

If you thought highly of Mosley, then you would think the same thing about Cotto and Marg. Because all 3 lose and won against each other.
So Pac had an option to choose too either fight Cotto or Mosley. Either fight would be great..He just chose fight Cotto. You cant be ducking the other guy if you chose to fight another opponent who was equally on the same level.Last edited by mikemurni; 02-08-2011, 04:49 PM.Comment

Cotto beat Shane at 147. Below is the real reason why Pac chose CottoIf you thought highly of Mosley, then you would think the same thing about Cotto and Marg. Because all 3 lose and won against each other.

instead of Mosley.......
That and because Cotto is a Top Rank fighter.
Cotto won a bloody and highly competitive split decision against Joshua Clottey on Saturday to retain his version of the welterweight crown. Pacquiao sat ringside with Arum and told him during the fight, in which Cotto struggled at times, that he wanted to fight Cotto next.
