I concur with Larry Merchant,,,BUT:
There is a difference in between the fighters that fight for money and those that fight for glory.
If you like Mayweathers style of ducking for the business sake you must not like the fighters that PUT IT ALL ON THE LINE FOR GLORY,,,,,,,,,by the way the money will come with the winners.
Mayweather will NEVER GO DOWN, EVER, as an ATG in my book due to his behavior in the ring over the past 5 years.
He has ducked fighters mentioned in Merchants interview for no matter what the reason. This makes Mayweather stand out amongst all the great fighters I have watched since the 50's as being the only one with $#!* on his face.
With his attitude, his mind set, the fear of losing, always having to tell himself no one can beat him while running (hbo 24/7) he would never be in the class of Rocky Marciano, Ali,,Fraizer , even Liston, Foreman , Leonard , Benitez, Hearns, Carlos Ortiz, Salvador Sanchez, Gomez, Duran, Hagler, Ruben Hurricane Carter, my favorite middleweight growing up, and the list goes on and on.
Mayweather is not the face of boxing, boxing doesn't have $#!* on its face!!!
I have nothing personal to say about the man, All of my thoughts are about the "Fighter in Mayweather". I could care less about his money or what he does with his time outside the ring. That is his business, same for Pacman, BUT,,,,,,,,,
What Pac brings to the Fight GAME is what David P. Greisman said," Pacquiao's fights are the SUPER BOWLS, the biggest of bouts."
If you are into this fight game to see who can make the most money or most ppv's then you are " NOT " a fightfan but a FRAUD who likes to get on here and spout your $H!T !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You know who you are.Comment

Without throwing S#!T I agree. I am a pacfan but the intangibles says Mayweather wins but its been that way since De La Hoya, Pac has been the smaller guy in all the fights, but he comes out the winner.
He is facing a killer puncher that is bigger than he is in Mosley. Old or not he can land that killer punch, the one that nearly put Mayweather down and out, so with Pac its always the intangibles but there is something different about Pac, I have never seen him QUIT while fighting.
That word QUIT is a major word, for it has Many applications, not just one.Comment
