Abraham doesn't have the skill set necessary to tie Ward up on the inside. Depending on the referee, I see Ward doing a lot of work to Abraham's body with a free hand during clinches, almost all of which Ward will initiate.
As for Abraham catching Ward on the way in, I personally don't see it. Kessler had a hell of a lot of difficulty landing much of anything on Ward, and Kessler has more facets to his offensive game than Abraham. How often do you see Abraham doing damage with short punches anyhow? Most of what he lands big are wide, looping hooks or straight right hands from range. Ward won't be rushing in to be hit. He's difficult to time, and I think will be even more so in this fight because Abraham is a fairly predictable pattern fighter.
