why do you think calzaghe took the fight? he was an easy mark with a big reward. we have enough evidence pre calzaghe and post calzaghe to say lacy was not very good.
It's easy to discredit Lacyniw, but before Calzaghe ge was the bookies favourite and everyone said he would destroy Calzaghe. Think back to what everyone was saying, Lacy was meant to be the next Tyson, and he would have been if Zags hadn't schooled him.

which is why he struggled with Omar Sheika and Syd Vanderpool before the Calzaghe fight.
      uh huh.

Him being favorite was mostly only due to the fact that Calzaghe hadnt fought top guys in a while and his hands were constantly breaking.

I think the British books actually had Calzaghe the slight favorite too.

Nah if i remeber correctly he was also the underdog in the UK.

That doesn't change the fact Jeff Lacy is utterly useless though.

Nope. Even the biased Brit books had Lacy as favourite. The Zag man stopped the Lacy train with his speed and footwork. Masterclass.

none of what you are saying has to do with the actual substance of jeff lacy. was he a good fighter? no he was not. this is all hype you are repeating.

At the time Lacy was arguably top 25 ATG status.

who the hell does top 25 p4p lists? and once again that is just more opinion and hype. when i talk about fighters i talk about substance. where are the top fighters jeff lacy beat? nowhere he didn't beat any. how did jeff lacy look against mediocre competition? terrible. when you use this evidence the hype doesn't match up with reality.
