i had to quote this guy because im not sure whos greater all time out of the 2 but im leaning towards b-hop because of his long career and his long reign at middleweight.

I'd better see Hopkins move up and beat Roy Jones jr,Toney rather than defending titles for 10 years. I honestly think that he could've beaten Jones jr. Because in his 10 year reign his best challengers were smaller Trinidad and DLH, who were coming from lower weight. After being defeated by Taylor, Hopkins eventually had his biggest fights streak Tarver,Wright,Pavlik,Calzaghe,Pascal.

this is a silly poll. everyone will pick Pacquiao because hes the current #1 p4p.

later on down the round when Pacquiao loses in an upset and possibly gets KOed, a lot more reality will settle into people and his invincibility will dissapate.

I say lets wait until their careers are over.

at lthe present moment I think its dumb to even try to rate one over the other, since their careers are so different. you wont see Pacquiao fighting at 45, for example...and yet of course Pacquiao has done things Hopkins never has.

                BHop.

                20 Title defenses > 8 paper titles

Considering how Bhop took on ALL challengers. Pacquiao fights whoever Bob Arum wants him to fight BHop has made a career of defeating those "next big stars". His only 3 loses in the past 17 years have all been conversational where arguably he could of won all 3 fights. Pacquiao has beaten guys who have already established there career and only fought them based on there name and past accomplishments. Also BHop is an old man. He's nearly 50 years old and he's STILL dominating the sport and defeating those "next big stars" of today.

What's the point of having 8 titles if you don't want to defend any of them? If Martinez wants to challenge for the 154 pound belt, he can't because he's "too big"....then why have the belt in the first place? The point of being a champion is to defend your fucking belt not using it as a prompt to make you look good.

This is no contest. Whoever says Pacquiao is a *******. Plain and simple. I doubt they even watched a Bhop fight before.
Bernard is one of the top 3 middleweights of ALL time.

oh please, Hopkins' # of title defences mean jack ****. not only was the division weak during his reign, but a handful of his defences were over weak competition.

now, what Hopkins DOES have going for him are his good wins and his longevity in the sport. his past 40 resume is almost unrivaled, only one you could argue is Archie Moore.
