That is just for them which is only has to do with TV and not local selling tickets.I thought HBO was going to invest all this money and time into doing a BIG promotional program for this fight? They ain't done a damn thing to promote it as far as I can tell................HBO must have given up all their money to cover Andre Squirto's purses last year..way to go guys!!
Although you would think some people with HBO in the metro Detroit area could be convinced by HBO.Comment

I'm glad ticket sales are bad, it makes no sense that this fight is not in the Lou.
They are a great fan base and instead of rewarding them for there support of there hometown fighters we stick the fight in a place neither fighter can sell tickets.
I swear boxing can't kick itself in the ass anymore than it does.Comment

Yes, but what kind of an impression will somebody who's interested in staging an event there get when he sees how many people actually bought tickets or showed up?
If the promoters cared at all, they would have used the $600k paid to them as an incentive to, you know, actually promote the event.
From reading your posts here, I understand that the venue is quite the ways outside of the city, and I don't know if there is any mass transit that can take attendees without cars there. So I'd suggest they offer shuttle service or something like that to those who don't want to can't drive there. Gas costs money too.
There are many many things they can do to create as much a favorable condition for attending as possible since at this point it looks like quite an inconvenience to go.
Giving away free tickets back fires as well. If people know they can just wait and get free tickets in the end, why pay know?
All this being said, I am very confident that this fight will easily go over 1000 (that's not even a worry), and a conservative estimate would be somewhere around 5k on fight night, hopefully.Comment

If it was anywhere close to where I live I would have 10 tickets. But what do you expect? The jobless rate for where they are holding the fight is in the double digits. They should have had the fight in Vegas or St Louis. Or even Florida.Devon Alexander: "It's not about chasing Amir Khan. Amir Khan is not the cash cow at 140. I got a big following in St. Louis just like he has a big following in the UK. I don't think we should be dwelling too much about Khan after this."
.........
They should have held this fight in Europe. It would be sold out in the UK. America doesn't deserve fights like these.Comment

Yeah, but if this fight was being hyped up every other hr on HBO, I think it would bolster ticket sales for the fight a bit. Freaking Detroit needs to step u and go to this damn thing.Comment

There is no real mass transit in Metro Detroit. People are used to it- no need for shuttle service. The people who would attend the fight don't live in the city anyway and have cars to drive themselves there. Detroit's economy is bad, but that isn't why this fight isn't selling. It is because nobody knows who these fighters are because boxing promotion is awful. Plain and simple.Yes, but what kind of an impression will somebody who's interested in staging an event there get when he sees how many people actually bought tickets or showed up?

Maybe people in Detroit had this little thing called the failure of the auto industry. Maybe that's why they are a little bit worried about other things such as the next meal on the table. They should have had the fight somewhere else if they don't sell enough tickets then the fight will be postponed and moved to another venue.Comment

Of all places.
DETROIT?
If Bradley wanted an even playing field he should've just requested Vegas.
