yeah like who actually thought this was a good idea

you can't really do the whole neutral venue thing unless you are very well known throughout the country and have fanbases in multiple states

    common ****ing sense really innit

Hatton's fans will travel 5074 miles to see him fight.

      Alexander's fans won't travel 552 miles.

BIG SURPRISE! A fight between 2 unknown guys in a broke city with no boxing fans....The truth is that attendance doesn't matter to the promoters in these types of fights, its more about tv audience. Shaw must have gotten a hell of a deal to have this fight in such a terrible and random place.

the attendance should matter to the promoters, cause if there's no one in those seats it makes the boxers look bad

Khan-Maidana did'nt sell 1,000 tickets in vegas. Alexander would have drew 18,000 in st.louis with this fight.

Chances are we will never the honest count on paid attendance in both dollars and rear ends in the seats who did not get in free as Michigan keeps such information private by law.
So...Marley...why not just ask your trusted source how many tickets were sold after the fight is over?

The source's info is trusted enough to PUBLISH a story prior to the fight, but "chances are" you will have no information afterward from this same source?

Should be a wake up call for them two. More work to do with
their careers. Also they should be considering leaning on their
promoters because two top Jr WW's can't even sell 1000 tickets?
Didn't Don King and Gary Shaw do any promotion for this fight?
