When there is no lineal champ, before a bout take place, it has to be stated it's for the lineal title.

There was never any mention of it leading up to Mosley vs Mayweather.

Well my whole argument was about needing to beat Floyd to become the champ, since he was the last champ and never lost his lineage so if anyone really wanted to be champ Floyd would have to be dealt with. On the basis that you can't really be the real champ if you never beat the last guy who never lost the belt in the ring.

People came back with Floyd was the champ and brought up the Mosley fight and it makes some sense. I don't really think of Floyd as the champ at 147 currently but that argument does make some sense.

I agree that the lineal title will be decided when Floyd and Manny fight.

The only other guy out there is Berto, but due to his career decisions, he is amongst guys like Mike Jones, Canelo Alvarez and other prospects of the division.

As far as Floyd being the lineal champ....well again you lose it once you retire. If you didn't guys like Pancho Villa and Gene Tunney would forever be the lineal champs in their respective divisions as they never lost their titles.

How was Margarito vs Mosley a box off for the lineal title? That makes absolutely zero sense. Mosley wasnt even considered a threat. Margarito ducked a fight with Paul Williams which would have been for the lineage.

You made this thread to make fun of Pacquiao saying he is not undisputed champion. Undisputed champion is the proven main champion of the division, same status goes for lineal champion. Pacquiao doesn't need that achievement of unifying all the belts at WW, he is about to clean up whole division. If Pacquiao beats Mosley,Berto saying Manny is not undisputed champion has also the meaning Pacquiao didn't achieve a **** he have to beat Zaveck and Senchenko to prove that he is number one champion in division.
