no, its not obviously. In our era its nearly impossible to collect all the paper belts of the ABC organs.

      for example:

      Khan, WBA
      Alexander, IBF & WBC
      Bradley, WBO (former WBC)

that was sometime ago, since than Alexander was stripped of his IBF belt for not defending it to his mando.

in near future, if Bradley beats Alexander, Alexanders WBC belt will get vacant.

its about money, and you won't see an unified champion in a long time. (doubt Vitali will fight Wlad which is OK and a special case)

margarito-williams was a close fight , after williams lost to quintana earlier that year , makes sense to rank margarito over him even if he did have a win over margarito.

margarito and cotto was considered #1 and #2 at the time they fought by the majority.
But Williams knocked out Quintana before Cotto and Margarito fought. It made absolutely no sense to rank Margarito above Williams. How can it make sense for you to be ranked over the guy that beat you? Margarito and Cotto were not the 1 and 2. Not by Ring. Not by anyone. Except maybe Top Rank.

i'm not here to argue rankings with you. i'm telling you what they were.

just because pwill beat margarito doesn't mean he's automatically gonna be above him forever.

          rankings change.

pwill lost to quintana (even if he avenged it , he still lost) and margarito didn't lose and won 2 fights against cintron and johnson.

I checked the yes vote and I noticed some serious boxing fans voted yes. Didn't bother to read back but maybe they have their own definition of what being undisputed champion is.

If Pac defeats Mosley in his next fight.. Then defeats May and Berto, then Pac would have clean the WW division... That's DLH, Cotto, Clottey, Marg, Mosley, Berto, May in just 3 years..

But there's still be some welterweight title holder to dispute his being a welterweight champ. Now, he beats all of them WW title holders then he would be the undisputed WW champ.

That makes him a unified WW champ..Being undisputed and unified are linked but sometimes they are not..

I mean he can be a unified champ by fighting the belt holders and unifying the titles but it doesnt make him the undisputed WW champ because there is still May..

If he only beats May and Berto, then that makes him undisputed but not the unified WW champ..

In any case, I rather have Pac become the undisputed WW champ rather than the unified WW champ..
