I have read quite a few stuff about Armstrong. Never once have I read about him winning a title at a catch-weight. Maybe I'm wrong though. And, I like to learn something new everyday. Maybe somebody can mention something.

Of all the belts Pac has garnered, it's the one he won from Cotto that is not legitimate. That's just me.

Ugh you guys do realize that Pac is not the first fighter to win a vacated title right?

Of course not....but our views and opinions as fans have little to do with the sanctioning bodies and writers acknowledging the title that Manny won.

Fact - Manny did win a 154lb belt.....catchweight or not...he fought a fighter (deserving of the shot or not) over 147lbs....

Fact - Manny WILL NOT defend the title....not for Martinez or anyone else @ 154lbs who would like a shot at Manny....

Fact - Send a letter to the sanctioning body who put the belt up for grabs.

Is he the first fighter to win a vacant title at weight that neither fighter has really put in any work and to have it a catch-weight to boot?

Why...at least Cotto "won" it....the 154lb title was just there for him to pick up (while paying the sanctioning fee)

Either way, it's still a paper title.

Tommy Gunn / Rocky Balboa scenario?
