Manny wants Berto not Mosley?!?!

Arum was quoted as saying the Berto offer sheet was "reasonable", so the only issue I think would be the co-promotion which is what Arum really wants to avoid.

it will be interesting to see what kind of revenue projections they would have for a potential Berto-PAC fight...the die-hard will definitely tune in and pay to watch...however, Berto isn't really a household name...Arum would have to dig into those pockets to give PAC a good guarantee and he would have to eat the losses if the fight doesn't sell AS much


as for the actual matchup, it would seem like a move strictly based on 'challenge' as he takes on the younger fighter but im not sure if Berto will fare any better than Shane....Berto is a fighter with stamina issues and is a sucker for straight lefts...not a good trait when going into a mega fight with PAC

Berto not being a household name is an understatement. He's been getting paid good money to fight mostly no hopers down there. I watched the HBO show with two friends who were casual fans (one is a UFC fan). One barely knew who he was and one had no idea.

Doesn't mean he's not worthy because he's probably my top or 2nd choice for Pac's next opponent. But I can see the business side of it.

he's being heavily considered bro...a couple of people i know that are associated with PAC's team has mentioned Berto on more than a couple of occasions...i personally didn't believe it but i think there's a real conflict between Arum and PAC's choices at the moment

Yeah I don't disagree with you. I WANT Pac to fight Berto. And I think Pac has enough pull on his own these days to make any event a 'success.'

It's just difficult to ignore that he'd be a much tougher sell even though he's the bigger threat to Pac than Mosley at this point.
