Hi Thomas,

Thank you so much for your article. At least someone came with a fair judgement. After the fight I rushed to the forum and I expected to find a lot of threads complaining about the result of the fight and the referee but for my surprise most of people were happy with what happened and in the way it happened and all prises for Khan.

As you said, with another referee the outcome would be different. I was watching a live stream because I lost my satellite system I just could not miss this fight, but after few rounds and between freezing and freezing, the only thing I could see was Khan running not like a boxer but like someone trying to save his life and every time they got close I just saw Maidana hammering and hammering Khan.

Unfortunately for many, in the real world "money" rules and boxing is not the expection. Said that, its not secret whom are behind Khan while for Maidana side, only his corner, families, relatives, and his fans wanted him to win but we are not judges. And worst than that... why they are not willing to give us an immediate re-match???

Cortez was tring to allow Maidana to land his power shots by giving him as much room as he needed in the 10th round. But Marcos didn't finish him and so all the whining hoes come out and complain.

Joe Cortez is an Incompetent Referee!!!

Ever since Joe Cortez blatently robbed Humberto "La Zorrita" Soto on his fight against Francisco Lorrenzo I have hated that man!! If I ever see his ass in Las Vegas or any where else I am going to let him know... I swear to God I would scream at him, "Joe Cortez your A Dumb Motha-Fawker!!!!". How the **** is Joe Cortez in the Hall of Fame?? He should be in the Hall of Shame!!

He definitely seems to be over involved in a lot of his fights. It's like Khan vs Maidana, and then Cortez. Like in the posters of fights he will ref, he should be on there because he will be in on the action all night and will be as much as a main character as the two fighters, which is wrong. I have never seen a ref get so much negative feedback in this era of boxing. Nady, Bayless, Smoger are among the best that only get positive feedback. But hey I guess boxing commisions love Cortez because he's so controversial with his way of refereeing fights?

Cortez did his job. PERIOD. MAIDANA is a poor sport and sore loser. He never touched gloves with KHAN, and he tried to elbow CORTEZ!!! What the....? He lost a very GOOD, CLOSE fight. He should learn to control himself and his temper better in the ring. He was SHOCKED like most that he couldn't finish KHAN off. I knew KHAN would win and that's why I bet 200,000pts on him. He's ready. Still learning of course, but ready enough to unify the titles. Next time all you haters and biased fans on this site, keep quiet and give a fighter credit when he wins a fight like that. CHAVEZ Jr. will dazzle next. WATCH! He's the truth also and all I read on here is hate and negative comments about him. But everyone praises ALVAREZ like he's as talented as CHAVEZ Jr. GUESS WHAT? He's NOT!
