Mayweather vs Hatton had little to do with Cortez, thats the wackest excuse I've ever heard. Mayweather schooled Ricky at his own game with or without Joe Cortez.

Maidana has a much better gripe cause he was actually in the fight and doing damage to Khan. Hatton didn't do **** to Floyd.

Naw i think cortez did a good job in the 10 th maidana just didnt have enough gas to finish him off. But ass for the rest of the fight he killed maidanas chance. He broke them up in the clinches maidana could off koed maidana in a similar way angulo koed his last opponent when he hurt him in the clinch and finished him off. There should be a rematch down the line but with a diffret reff so there wont be any excuses.

All he done was move forward to get outta the corner while Maidana caught hold and circled around behind him hitting him from behind.

There's turning your back on purpose to avoid conflict, then there's someone holding on getting sloppy and hitting from behind.

I totally agree with the interference from Cortez. He never lets guys punch their way out. He seems to crave the spotlight himself. Refs should be invisible until needed. Cortez is bad news for any inside fighter...and I agree he ruined the Mayweather/Hatton fight. Clinches need to be allowed as long as punching is happening. Clinching when you're tired obviously needs to be broken up. Cortez is getting to old to know the difference. I haven't liked that ref since I became a fan. He's ruined many a title fight by interfering wayyyyy to often =(

I totally agree with the interference from Cortez. He never lets guys punch their way out. He seems to crave the spotlight himself.

Cortez only does that when he is being paid off. There are other fights where you don't notice him at all.
