Khan clearly won the first 6 rounds to go along with a knockdown. Being up 8 points meant the only way Maidana won would be via several knockdowns or a knockout. Neither happened....and yeah you are the only one.
Am I the only one on here that thought Khan got a gift decision?

He clearly won the first half of the fight where he had a ko in round 1 and Maidana had a point deduction. Second half was where Maidana started to come back, but it was too little, too late. Unless he could put Khan to sleep there was no way he was going to win on points.Comment

I come to this conclusion because for one thing, while both guys landed close to the same amount of punches according to compubox probably, it was Maidana who would land a bunch of unanswered punches. I saw instances in the fight that would resemble Margarito-Cotto of where Maidana would land like four or five uppercuts in a row sandwiched in between body punches and Khan had no answer for it. Later on in the fight Khan's punches had no impact on Maidana at all, and I scored both the tenth and twelfth rounds 10-8 in Maidana's favor. A lot of people probably wouldn't agree with me where the twelfth round is concerned. But anybody who doesn't score the 10th round 10-8 for Maidana is a fool. And that right there somewhat negates the advantages for Khan that occured earlier in the fight like the knockdown and the point deduction.
Khan got battered by a tough, but crude slugger and escaped with a controversial win. And he really doesn't deserve a lot of praise in my view because he's gonna go after sorry ass Zab Judah now. He's a British hype job.
I agree with you on this one 100% Hes always been a Hype Job its a matter of time before somebody Sparks this kid out hard, The Blueprint was set yesterday , he can't handle pressureComment

Yes you are alone in that thinking as it was clear that Khan outclassed Maidana for the entire fight. It wasn't until later in the fight after Khan had thrown over 500 punches that he slowed down and Maidana was able to take over. You can't just win the last 3 rounds and get the fight.
To call this a gift decision is a joke. Khan clearly won this fight.Comment

dominated? did you even see the fight? Khan won,and most of the rounds he did but he left there a battered ass fool. he didnt impress me. hes really quick but he got tired from trying tobe flashy. he could have jabbed, gave angles and set up his power shots way better. maidana was there for the taking. he was tired since round 3. slow and sluggish. khan stood there and got smacked all fight long. he didnt fall which means his chin is alright but he got smacked around by a fatigued fighter. a little bit more and khan would have been koed in this fight. thats far from dominating. he has issues, barely shows angles nd uses his skills rarely. hes not a smart brit. You are the only one!!! Dude wtf you serious? Kahn dominated Maidana man!!! For some reason allot ppl here think that using you footwork(running) should deduct points. No you fool is hit and not get hit. Maidana last 3 rounds run did not erase the fact that he couldn't touch kahn in the earlier rounds. Boxing is scored on round by round basis not win the last 3 rounds, or almost get knock out.Comment

I don't know how you could've scored round 12 a 10-8 for Maidana. Khan probably didn't throw much, but when he did he landed...and he flurried and landed punches at the end of the round. Khan wasn't hurt or anything severe to justify a 10-8 round. If you wanna' give that last round to Maidana, then go ahead. But no way was it a 10-8 round. Round 10 was a 10-8 round, though.Comment

I scored it a draw becuase i didn't take Cortez idiotic point deduction into consideration. I felt that there were many rounds that although Khan outlanded Maidana his punches were just flurries that had no impact while Maidana was hitting Khan with shot that were really hurting the guy.Comment
