Am I the only one on here that thought Khan got a gift decision?

How can anyone score this fucking fight so close is beyond me.

They don't know how to score fights for fucking shit.

Wow, I actually agree with stones.

Khan boxed his ears off. Maidana had some good moments in the fight, but looked terrible for a lot of it.

In no way is this a gift decision, nor did Cortez win the fight for Khan. Maidana landed a few good shots, but was outclassed that's all.

Later on in the fight Khan's punches had no impact on Maidana at all, and I scored both the tenth and twelfth rounds 10-8 in Maidana's favor. A lot of people probably wouldn't agree with me where the twelfth round is concerned. But anybody who doesn't score the 10th round 10-8 for Maidana is a fool. And that right there somewhat negates the advantages for Khan that occured earlier in the fight like the knockdown and the point deduction.

Khan got battered by a tough, but crude slugger and escaped with a controversial win. And he really doesn't deserve a lot of praise in my view because he's gonna go after sorry ass Zab Judah now. He's a British hype job.
He definitely didnt win the fight in my eyes,he had the judges on his side and Joe 'I'm firm but not fair' Cortez

I don't see how anyone can give Khan rounds 3, 6, 10, 11, and 12. Khan got stunned pretty bad in 3 and 6. And in round 10, 11, and 12 he was running for his life.

Rounds 4, 7, and 9 were very close and could have gone either way.

I think Khan won rounds 1, 2, 5, and 8 pretty cleary and with two of those rounds being 10-8 I don't have much of a problem with the UD win by Khan. The fight was very close, but in the end it looked like the judges thought Khan's efficient style won him the fight and I have no problem with that.

HOWEVER, I think Cortez did a bad job of reffing this fight. Taking away a point in the 5th was uncalled for IMO and I do believe he was breaking them up too frequently.

the fight was close and Maidana might have had a better shot if Cortez wasnt the referee....but i thought Khan won.

A gift decision was the one handed to Lamont Patterson (draw) against Ortiz...Ortiz won that fight.

Your scoring is way off compared to the compubox stats... anyhow, that is your opinion so I have no problem with that.

You say cortez did a bad job??? So fighters can throw elbows in a fight and that is alright with you?

Maidana didn't win those rounds by the number of punches he landed, it was off the POWER of the few punches he did land. Maidana stunned Khan in those rounds and Khan's Jabs didn't stop Maidana from coming foward and his power punches didn't even slow Maidana down. Hell outside of round 1 Khan didn't hurt Maidana.

I think he should've gotten a warning first.

Nah, Khan banked enough obvious rounds early that the late charge wasn't enough. Great comparison with Margarito-Cotto, that's exactly what was going through my mind watching.

Khan won 7 rounds to 5. Even if there was no point deduction, Khan wins by majority dec: 114-112, 114-112, 113-113. And the rounds that Khan won (1-5, 8 & 9) were not even close.
