    Khan made fight harder

Khan should have used his jab alot more too setup other punches. All though Maidana is very tough Khan made the fight alot harder than it was suppose to be. Khan needs more head and shoulder movement he (Khan) could have picked Maidana apart coming in all night

Scores were 114-111 (twice) and 113-112 in favor of Khan.

The general consensus going into the fight was that Khan would box and Maidana would brawl. However, it was the lanky Brit who made his presence felt early, scoring with a right and left to the body that floored Maidana in the opening round. The Argentinean beat the count, but winced in pain the entire time as well as on his way back to the corner.

From there, the table was set for a shootout, much to the pleasure of those who feared that Khan would try to turn a fight into a boxing match. The crowd wasn’t exactly capacity (estimated at less than 4,000) but was vocal in their support of Khan, with many among those in attendance having made the trek from jolly old England.

Khan, to his credit, did everything to keep the crowd entertained early on. The onslaught continued in the second with a brilliant boxing display, though Maidana managed to sneak in a body shot at rounds end. [Click Here To Read More]
Khand had me worried but at the end of the day he made me proud as a fan....he took those bombs and fought through the storm....9 minutes of pure heart is what I said he was gonna have to show when he got rocked and he did just that....props to him for holding up through the fire he was under....and major props to Maidana...thats a tough mofo....he don't give a **** and just keeps coming .....thats a hard dude right there....Khan was on his bike like I thought he would have to be and it worked out well....he didnt win like I thought he would...Maidana made it closer than I thought it would be....but a win is a win....and thats not just a win...its a HUGE win for Khan atm

Then something dawned on me.... What is the common factor between Pacq and Khan; both were guys who have been down before, Khan 3 times prior, and Pacq a few times himself, and now they can not be taken off of their feet by some of the hardest punchers landing the flushes shots. This isn't Mosley who has never been knocked down; these are guys who have been down before.

One common thing is Roach, and while a trainer can make your shots harder, make you faster, stronger, throw straighter and truer, he can't make your chin any stiffer, either you can take a hit on the jaw or you can't. Now I know there are certain on the button shots that will knock any man out but there are also accumulative shots that will also chop a tree down and Maidana was landing those on Khan last night, and he was just smiling at the end of the 10th.

That made me think of the second thing that they have in common and that is strength and conditioning coach in Ariza. Now I know many people will shoot me down and call me a hater, a racist, a ******, and what not, but I believe that Ariza is juicy them guys with something that lets them shrug off damage. Khan's face was damaged and he still was acting like he wasn't fazed, slugging at the final bell, Pacq said his ear drum was busted at the end of the Cotto fight and still he was swinging away with no signs of damage, Clottey hit pacq with crushing uppercuts (infrequently though) and still he came, Margs battle for a few rounds and pacq was unfazed. Maidana was landing Bombs on Khan and he was looking as fresh as round one throughout the fight.

Their ability to walk through fire and come out like they had a Halo energy shield is just too fishy for me. Both these guys defense is not that great, Khan was getting hit with too many power shots, but why should he care, he could have had his hands down the whole fight if he knew that he would not feel any of the punches and that he would never go down. Now people will be like, "tell me what he is taking then, what could it possibly be..." remember "the clear" was unheard and unthought-of of until it was exposed and studied. Ariza may have the next enhancer that either allows you to ignore pain or helps with equilibrium and balance so that stuff that would normally knock you off, won't know. It could do something to your inner ear fluid to help avoid sea sickness and such.

You may laugh but if Khan and Pacq keep fighting and never look hurt or go down, you will remember this post. Especially for two guys that have been down before and have not improved their defense one bit.

should not have been a win for khan, he started great but then got his ass kicked the scores were ridiculous, even a drw but a unanimous win??? thats just soo wrong. maidana is the goods not khan, khan wont ever be elite hes too damn chinny, good handspeed nothing more hes a hype job.maidana was robbed ugly.he took over he sustained far less damage he scored the more meaningful shots and frankly had khan practically out on his feet all I saw was khan runnung away backing up for his life in second half that to me isnt what winners are made of.

Mayweather wants nothing to with Freddie's fighters, including Khan! Floyd Sr. keeps telling him that Freddie fighters are all on "power pellets"! lol

I didn't want to score the fight 'till I saw it a couple of times.
The 1st time I thought Amir won like 8 rounds, then saw the fight w/o audit a couple of times and my perspective changed quiet a lot.

On Joe Cortez, is well known and documented that if you a brawler that like to go in and make the match a fight, Joe Cortez wont let that happen. Everybody knows that if a boxer is trying to hold and the other has 1 hand free, that boxer is allowed to keep punishing the other boxer, this is the way el Perro Angulo KO Alcine in his last fight...and what Cortez did?...not only to Maidana but to every in your chest type of fighter.

I don't want to come across that I think Maidana got robbed, Amir did a fantastic fight, this kid has skills. He's fast, got pop, smart and active but people his chin IS SUSPECT...

This is the way I saw it: (This is just my perspective of the fight, you can agree or disagree)...

              [B][U]Khan[U][B] | Maidana
              1 10 | 8

              10 8 | 10

Well we know this much: Khan still has no chin.

Did anyone else notice how HBO cut the interview REAL short? There was no mention of how he got rocked. And no mention of how he rean the last three rounds.

                Way to protect him, HBO.

Dude, you act like you're the first person to think of any of this!! Your su****ions are over a year late.

Pac & Khan no longer DRAIN themselves to make weight, which is the NUMBER 1 FACTOR of becoming "chinny". Also, Ariza is very transparent when it comes to his new strength and conditioning methods. He makes himself more than available to cameras, journalists and outsiders during the training camps and meals. He shows what's going on. Only now other boxers are starting to implement it. But if they still drain themselves before weigh-in, then they have problems! Fifteen years ago, it was the other way around!! Remember Gatti-Gamache where Gatti gained 18 pounds overnight and almost killed Gamache in the ring? Well now if Ariza conditioned Gamache, Gatti would be the one in trouble! It's the evolution of sports!!

Also, notice that Ariza is just one guy unlike Victor Conte and Mackie Shilstone that have or had multi-million dollar facilities for athletes, which they hid behind. Both Conte and Shilstone worked with boxers that were busted for steriods/PEDs in the past (Holyfield, Roy Jones and Shane Mosley). Malignaggi even started training at the Wild Card and now he's no longer mouthing off about Freddie & Ariza. Conte works with Donaire now who is good friends with Pac. Look how Donaire moves up in weight and dominates. The only people that still criticize these conditioning methods are the delusional Mayweathers.

I had Khan winning 114-111 on my card too, so that score is correct and fair IMO, but the score doesn't give Maidana the credit he deserves. What a GREAT fight and Maidana had Khan about to go down many times. He proved himself to be a great warrior. I can't wait to see a lot more fights at 140. I want to see a super-six between these guys! Come on HBO!#
