    It was Maidana VS Khan/Cortez.
The Maidana the Khan struggled with last night is no where near the caliber of the Manny Pacquiao that destroyed Margarito, which Khan claims to be equal in sparring. Khan needs to stop thinking so highly of himself. He's raising the expectations too high and does not back it up like he brags about.

I wouldn't have a problem with Khan if he didn't run his mouth as if he was God's gift to boxing.

i really don't care too much for khan, but i gotta say that showed he has heart. he did what he was supposed to do against a big puncher and even took maidana's best punches. At the same time, i think maidana exposed khan defence. if a slow fighter can touch him that much imagine what a fast fighter can do. also one thing from both guys that pissed me off...they did not work the body!! after khan dropped maidana with that body shot, he did not go back downstairs, and maidana should have been going to the body all night. maidana could have knocked khan out if he didn't do all that head hunting. in the 10th maidana should of went to the body so khan could drop his guard then come with the right hand! man that pissed me off, but other than that it was a great fight.

He was dazed a few times but still he was spry and moving around delivering combo's when he wanted in the 11th and 12th rounds. He reminded me of Pacq when he was fighting Cotto. Then something dawned on me.... What is the common factor between Pacq and Khan; both were guys who have been down before, Khan 3 times prior, and Pacq a few times himself, and now they can not be taken off of their feet by some of the hardest punchers landing the flushes shots. This isn't Mosley who has never been knocked down; these are guys who have been down before.

One common thing is Roach, and while a trainer can make your shots harder, make you faster, stronger, throw straighter and truer, he can't make your chin any stiffer, either you can take a hit on the jaw or you can't. Now I know there are certain on the button shots that will knock any man out but there are also accumulative shots that will also chop a tree down and Maidana was landing those on Khan last night, and he was just smiling at the end of the 10th.

That made me think of the second thing that they have in common and that is strength and conditioning coach in Ariza. Now I know many people will shoot me down and call me a hater, a racist, a ******, and what not, but I believe that Ariza is juicy them guys with something that lets them shrug off damage. Khan's face was damaged and he still was acting like he wasn't fazed, slugging at the final bell, Pacq said his ear drum was busted at the end of the Cotto fight and still he was swinging away with no signs of damage, Clottey hit pacq with crushing uppercuts (infrequently though) and still he came, Margs battle for a few rounds and pacq was unfazed. Maidana was landing Bombs on Khan and he was looking as fresh as round one throughout the fight.

Their ability to walk through fire and come out like they had a Halo energy shield is just too fishy for me. Both these guys defense is not that great, Khan was getting hit with too many power shots, but why should he care, he could have had his hands down the whole fight if he knew that he would not feel any of the punches and that he would never go down. Now people will be like, "tell me what he is taking then, what could it possibly be..." remember "the clear" was unheard and unthought-of of until it was exposed and studied. Ariza may have the next enhancer that either allows you to ignore pain or helps with equilibrium and balance so that stuff that would normally knock you off, won't know. It could do something to your inner ear fluid to help avoid sea sickness and such.

You may laugh but if Khan and Pacq keep fighting and never look hurt or go down, you will remember this post. Especially for two guys that have been down before and have not improved their defense one bit.
So you decided to make an account to post tha tnonsense. Khan was out on his feet in the 10th round, how could you possible think it ddint effect him. Please make this your lfirst and last post.

It was something special that kept Khan on his feet in the tenth. Everyone talks about Maidana being a 'warrior' but what about Amir?

            Khans got alot of heart!

              rematch

cortez saved amir khans life all night would not let maidana to fight on the inside, kept breaking them up for no reason sometimes not even holding.. A rematch should be considered its not that amir dominated. Maidana with a little better condition should do better.

I don't know why everyone is hating on Cortez, saying he was favoring Maidana. Come on people, Maidana was throwing rabbit punches and even elbows, plus Cortez was giving **** to Khan as well for pushing Maidana.

                Anyways amazing fight.
                Exactly!!!

Amazing fight both of them are warriors and that fight was what boxing is about. khan expected to box took some bombs as did maidana hes made of stone!!!everytime khan came forward maidana would feel it and he should have used the jab more and boxed to the body coz there was no way he was going to put the argentine down any other way. Im not sure if alot of these people have seen Cortez ref before, its just his manner every ref is different some are less involved.

Khan won and didnt go down, saw the leg wobble from that bomb in the 10th but he bobbed, weaved and swithed the position of the fight and confused a one dimensional boxer at times.

Off topic but please can someone answer me what the hell happend to james kirkland???did he fight??

I certainly thought it would be exciting - it was the fight I was looking forward to most this year. And I thought it would be very competitive overall, although I expected Khan to outbox Maidana for long periods, which he did. Whether I expected it to be as exciting as it was, I don't know. I wasn't thinking that specifically. And I was certainly surprised that Khan got a KD so early, and that he seriously hurt Maidana with it.

It was a good thing for Khan that he had such a long training for this fight while he was helping Pac to get ready. His conditioning helped him to get thru. He still has too many amatuerish habits. His speed hurts opponents but he is not a strong puncher. The worst habit he has is that he crosses his legs too much or squares them. He is too much worried to get his fast combination off than throwing it properly.

He won this fight by finding more in him to fight thru but I don't know how will he do with a fighter that has more skills than Maidana. Khan is there to be hit and he always runs to the right with punching

The 1st time I thought Amir won like 8 rounds, then saw the fight w/o audit a couple of times and my perspective changed quiet a lot.

On Joe Cortez, is well known and documented that if you a brawler that like to go in and make the match a fight, Joe Cortez wont let that happen. Everybody knows that if a boxer is trying to hold and the other has 1 hand free, that boxer is allowed to keep punishing the other boxer, this is the way el Perro Angulo KO Alcine in his last fight...and what Cortez did?...not only to Maidana but to every in your chest type of fighter.

I don't want to come across that I think Maidana got robbed, Amir did a fantastic fight, this kid has skills. He's fast, got pop, smart and active but people his chin IS SUSPECT...

This is the way I saw it: (This is just my perspective of the fight, you can agree or disagree)...

                      Khan | Maidana
