Serious Question for REAL/HONEST boxing fans about Manny Pacquiao?!

He's fighting bums and shot fighters. Why is everyone so surprised? David Diaz, sucks. Oscar Dela Hoya, old, shot and weight drained. Hatton, sucks. Cotto, shot. Clottey sucks. Margarito, shot and slow. Isn't this what we all say about Manny and his opponents? Why is everyone surprised he is blasting through these guys?
(This is sig-worthy just to keep reminding bums in these
forums.)Comment

Nice post Reed...
I was wondering how many fighters you can name that have become faster & stronger in their 30's then they were in their 20's.
Also I am not of the belief that Manny was struggling to make 126 or 130lbs...or he was dehydrated in any of those fights. I never ever heard Roach or Pac at that time claim that they were struggling to make weight @126 or 130lbs
You?
Fact is, he's fighting slower fighters, so he looks faster.
And, I don't have to name anyone... every single fighter is different, every individual is different... Is it beyond a reasonable doubt that not having to dehydrate anymore actually benefitted him?
Of course not.
Ok you don't believe it.
And?
Is that it?
You didn't hear them say anything about being dehydrated.
Ok... and?
Is that your proof he wasn't dehydrating to make weight? Because he didn't say anything? Because you didn't hear it? Because they didn't make it public?
How about the fact that he put on 14-15lbs of water overnight....
Surely someone who isn't dehydrated, doesn't need to put that much weight on in 24 hours.Comment

because not everyone is the same. thats like me saying how come i drink milk everyday just like u but why is it that your taller than me. LOL.. manny is not that old, this is where he's at his best now IMO. I can understand where your coming from if manny is 38 or something and becoming faster and stronger but that is not the case. Manny is only 32, this is his peak right now where he's at his best. A few years ago when he was younger i feel that he didnt fully mature into a great boxer yet until now. why is it so hard to believe that a boxer can improve as he gets older and again he's only 32 so its not like he's old as hell and just keeps getting faster and stronger.Last edited by iNDOLiFER; 12-09-2010, 03:23 PM.Comment

How can Manny go from being rocked by smaller guys MORE THAN ONCE to not being bothered by massively bigger more powerful punchers-boxers? He's developed a helluva punch since moving up in weight. It's possible that it's just his body maturing, but it would have to be truly remarkable genetics to not only account for his firepower but also his suddenly amped ability to take punches from bigger fighters.
Manny in his 30's as a welterweight is faster than he was in his 20's as a lightweight. Normally, as you get older and gain weight, you get slower. Floyd in his 30's as a welterweight is slower than he was in his 20's as a lightweight. This makes sense. Mannys situation does not make sense.
Also increased stamina as evidenced by increasing punch output. Hard to increase punch output when you go from 130 to 147 in TWO years. Especially when you consider 50+ fights and ring wars at the lower weights. He looked so bad in the Larios fight (pretty sure it was the one) the commentary team was questioning whether his career was over.
Then Ariza arrrived and the same commentary team were stunned at his turnaround in his fight with Diaz.
Manny will be 32 years old this month, he fought Morales in 2005 which would have made him 27 years old. He appears to be a faster and more powerful fighter since he has become older and moved up in weight. Did Manny just hit his prime late and develop into a great fighter?Last edited by Alibata; 12-09-2010, 03:32 PM.Comment

Did pacquiao start taking Peds during Ledwaba? Because Morales, Barrera, Marquez, Ledwaba, Couldn't knock him out like the smaller lesser fighters that did. But it was Ariza right?.. So how could manny stand up to punches from Morales and not Singsurat.? He must've been on Peds then too right? Flogic don't make sense to me. So when did he start taking Peds? Or is it maybe a dehydrated Pac that got Koed and a healthier pac that were able to resist punches.Comment
